The keg is such an unispired lay...I like my restaurants to seduce me with variety of approaches to our encounters. It's sad that keg is held in such high regards. If i had to, i'd pick moxies/earls/joey's/(insert cookie cutter wanna be fine dining here) over the keg

With CP moving its container terminal further outside the city limit, I could see a Rail Diesel Car service being set up between either Old Strathcona or possibly downtown Edmonton with just a little bit of effort (and likely in the sub $50 million range for capital costs) to the airport.

Why do I predict this:

1. It has the possibility to engender jealousy from Calgarians (which was stated in the early rumors)
2. It is possible if the airline is in high level negotiations with CP and/or CN over Port Alberta that this would have easily come up
3. Rail Traffic Volumes due to the terminal moving may allow for more innovative services along existing rail within city limits

The bilateral with India also specifically mentions Edmonton without mentioning Calgary (which is covered only by 'any other two points to be selected by India'). The ASA also allows fifth freedom rights into the United States, which would help a route be economical.

But that would be a wild guess..

The airport definetly needs a 7-11 / Macs etc before security (inside the terminal) - those little festival newsstores just dont cut it these days.

Maybe a Fatburger too! Haha put a little added stress on the airplane lavs..

Oh yes...and the airport most definetly needs another bar, airside and non. How about a mini hudsons (like the UofA campus location)? Good normal type food, sports, beer.

Okay, my speculation.

Westjet decides to transform itself into an international airline hubbing out of YEG with flights to... hmmm... Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Addis Ababa, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Warsaw, Sydney, and Dubai, and for good measure and to round off the continents, the Amundsen-Scott Research Station in Antarctica.

^Im along the same lines as you IKAN. I was thinking about the US Airways scenario, using YEG as an in-between point on their Shanghai flight, and possibly expanding from there.
