Just came across this article Amended motion to support Vancouver's art community a 'slap in the face,' says councillor

I don't think ? it's going to affect the space at 889 Drake Street, I hope not.

Not sure it would matter since an operator will lease it on a cost recovery basis

Landmark tower with condos and a major hotel proposed next to Robson Square
A striking new tower featuring a sizeable hotel has been proposed immediately west of Robson Square in downtown Vancouver
The concept comes from the internationally acclaimed New York City-based firm SHoP Architects — renowned for landmark projects including Steinway Tower, Barclays Center, the American Copper Buildings, and the Brooklyn Tower — in partnership with Vancouver design firms Boniface Oleksiuk Politano Architects and PFS Studio.

Local developer Reliance Properties is seeking to redevelop 807-815 Hornby St. — the southwest corner of the intersection of Robson Street and Hornby Street — into a 368-ft-tall, 35-storey, mixed-use tower with strata market ownership condominium uses, hotel, and other commercial uses.

My guess is that this will be a strong contender to be the new Four Seasons Vancouver.

Interesting. It is a great location for a hotel.

Some councillors had a project update on 888 Cambie last month. I'm assuming we'll see the rezoning soon on ShapeYourCity.

Policy seems to be working as intended. Good to see a few more takers on this amendment. We should be seeing a few more live proposals soon

A Four Seasons without a pool? I feel like they typically have more amenities.

A good looking project (great materials) for a very important location. The boom of hotel/residential mix is great. I am so glad everyone is lumping hotel in now.

I doubt it will be a Four Seasons. They have remained pretty insistent that they either return to their old location or end up on the water.

A rebrand of the Fairmont Waterfront or Pan Pacific seem more likely Four Seasons destinations to me. Or a curveball and something on the False Creek side.

Here are some of the podium floorplans showing hotel amenity in purple and
a big 2 level CRU (3389 sq ft on level 1; 4954 sq ft on level 2) facing Robson St. in pink shading.
Too many columns in there for any kind of a large hotel ballroom but 1.5 floors above the lobby for amenity space.

Pics by me July 26th:

Harwood x Thurlow
1065 Harwood St and 1332 Thurlow St

Refreshing to see the spandrel panels glazed with a matching finish to the vision glass.

Hard to find the final renderings for these projects whose design changed a few times.

I think it might be the new Four Seasons.

I know for a fact that they have a new location signed up and that there will be residences, but I do not know where. I know it will also be a new build and not a conversion. It will also be in a different location.

This proposal seems to have a lot of amenity space relative to other proposals and the rooms are relatively large in the 400+ SF range, which points towards the upper segment

Would the Four Seasons residences have studios?
... and the residences have their own amenities rather than shared with the hotel.
But given the frequency of cost sharing disputes, I could see why they may be separate.

Potentially, I don't see why a studio would be an issue as an urban pied a terre.

The Mandarin Oriental Residences in New York have studio units.

The Park Hyatt in NY has it own resident's only amenities along with access the hotel amenities

Supposedly a Conrad has been signed as well

Royal Tower

Daily Hive posted July 29th pics of the Royal Tower pavilion addition.

The beige stone doesn't match the tower at all.
Reminds me of the small Holborn block at Georgia & Seymour with the Circle-K.
