Trains to/from 30th Street Station do not tunnel under the FMC, do they?

The only underground subway system that I am aware of is the Market/Frankford line with the Subway Surface Line in the same tunnel under Market Street.

If you are referencing the Hudson Yards project in Manhattan, please enlighten me how these two projects are similar.

Yes. Amtrack and SEPTA lines tunnel under the area and tunnel under the structure they are currently demolishing part of.

Cool comparison. It's interesting that after 25 years the Liberty's are still going to be in the top 5. Maybe in my lifetime they'll be "OUT" of the top ten, now wouldn't that be nice !!

Wow, that would mean 11 buildings at or above 900 ft. That would be HUGE. Realistically though, I think Liberty Place 1 will always have a central aesthetic role in skyline even if it becomes eclipsed by larger buildings. Like City hall tower, Lib 1 is just such a beautiful and recognizable building.

1 Liberty place will end up being like the Chrysler bldg, a building caught in the mix of many taller buildings, but still a jewel in the rough.

Do you think any younger generation will think differently meaning that CITC will pop up in their heads when they think Philadelphia? Just like when I think of NYC I think Chrysler or Empire State Building? Or LA and the US Bank Tower? Its kinda hard for me to grasp because we grew up watching LB 1 and 2 go up. But I think in 10 to 15 years some of these buildings will mark this city.

I think CITC will become a icon, because of the shape of the core turning into the spire. And FMC will have a lot of attention from the fact that there isn't anything its height around.

Coming up I-76 from South Philadelphia is going to be crazy after both FMC and new CHOP building are complete. It's already an impressive entrance into CC as it is but this will be a game changer.

Read the article and i read that they plan on a 900-1000 foot office building like the cira north.

This Drexel plan is more recent than the Brandywine images _ does look like a Cira or 1,000 footer

All of philly's tallest are iconic. It's actually pretty impressive that it holds that track record.

They are removing debris/rubble still in the ground from what I assume was the last building on the site which was demolished and then covering the holes back up with dirt. This leads me to believe that they won't be digging down into the ground for foundations and will just drill footings/caissons directly into the ground. The structure facing the train tracks looks to be completely prepped and ready.

^ This is what I assumed too, it looks like its deep enough, and that they would just pour the concrete and the footers deep in the ground.
