That area of the city would benefit a lot from development there and at 26th and Arch. 13th and Market is a sad lot as well. I wish City Center Tower could come back.

Quick thought regarding that article's mention of the development of the next Cira tower ... To my knowlege, this is the first time we have hear details (54 stories, 900-1000 ft) regarding "Cira 2". Sure, we have all seen the model depicting the striking tower rising behind 30th Street Station, but I don't recall any details being shared about it. Also, like some of you I have seen the model in person, as well as the photos of the model (which can be viewed attached to the article in case anyone missed it). By comparing it to the nearby original Cira, I roughly estimated that Cira 2 would be around 800 ft tall. Perhaps my estimation is off .... waaaaay off, but is it possible that Brandywine has upped the proposal?

If this tower rises to 1,000 ft, with a similar design to the one we have seen, it would be amazing. THIS would be the iconic skysraper of Philadelphia, with all due respect to Liberty 1, Comcast and CITC.

Finally something to quench our cravings. Looks like they dug a lot for the amount of time they've been there. If thats the preview if their work ethnic instead of that building behind CITC that had the lets take forever on a 15 story building; then color me excited.

I hate to be overly skeptical, but the blog post in the link doesn't give any inclination of where the "new" information about Cira 2 was obtained. It's quite possible that the author is just working on memory from the old proposal from half a decade ago and this is nothing new. I'll hold my excitement until I hear something a bit more definitive from a credible source. Besides, there's plenty exciting development going on right now with CITC, FMC, etc!

Thats not true. Hudson Yards is being built over tracks which has a large amount of space. The Cira 2 building has a defined lot.

I got the same impression regarding 'new' info on Cira 2. Plus, when the groundbreaking happened for FMC the press release said the following...

I am not sure if Cira Centre South and Cira Centre are exactly the same thing. Maybe someone knows for sure but I think the South portion of the name designates the buildings on the south end of 30th Street Station (EVO, FMC, Cira Green) but not the entire project. Wouldn't Cira 2 (the fourth tower) be part of the Cira Centre and not necessarily Cira South?

It appears on the site that they are listed as separate entities.

I'm fairly certain that Evo and FMC together make up what was originally called Cira South. The other "new" proposed building is what has been referred to as Cira 2. I'm putting the word new in quotes because we essentially have no new information about this building that wasn't around in 2007 (check the first page of this thread and you'll see the rendering in that blog post along with pretty much everything you need to conclude everything the post wrote about this building.

There is no news here, it just sounds new because we haven't heard anything substantive about Cira 2 for half a decade. I have no doubt that a large building will eventually go there, but I'm not going to hold my breath or assume that the final product will in any way resemble the information we have about it now.

Anyway, back to the much more exciting developments that are currently taking place. Two new buildings in the top 10 are currently under construction (Well site prep at any rate)! Philly is on fire!
