Definitely said 1000 when I looked at it. Whatever, it's 400 is good also.

Someone I know in greater Vancouver has half of their basement as a legal secondary suite, and the other half still used by the home's owners. There are two outside doors in the walk-out basement, one from the half still accessible to the owners, and a second from the suite. The two areas in the basement are connected via the utility room IE each half has a door to it (both with keyed locks, of course). Clearly the home has a substantial footprint, as both halves are quite reasonable (I'm thinking it is about 700+sf per half, plus 100sf for the utility room, so about 1,500-1,600sf on the floor I'm thinking). Is this scenario allowed in Calgary? I don't recall ever seeing a SFH with a door exiting from the basement on both sides of the house.

Thanks O-tac - good for Denver .... But I wish we could get something that tall built here (surprise surprise).

I'm not a fan of the design though.

^^Until the office market rebounds....It'll be a while a while! I'm encouraged to see a few fairly tall proposals (residential) out there, which is a positive.

All commercial to the east and south really. There is no historic character in the area as I don't think any residents are older than the 70's even. Even houses here in town with some possible historic significance are just standard of the time nothing special houses. The first doctor the town had, his first house has already been torn down along with most everything else. All of these possibly historically significant houses are located in "The Village" and not old town though.

Great info there, thanks for sharing. I'm surprised another large condo is looking to go ahead in this market - I thought we were already fairly overbuilt.
