I could be wrong but I think there was once a thread for 500,000-1,000,000 that was ignored and quietly died.
One rule that might work would be a limit on photo size (click to see full size image) and/or a maximum number of images per post. A nice side-effect of limiting the number of images is that the quality might go up if people choose the best ones to post.
If people have large sets of images they should be putting them in City Photos in their own thread. If they still want the photos to be seen by people in the Canada section they can link to the photo thread from a smaller post in one of the threads here.
How about "The Great Canadian Skyline thread for cities 2,000,000 and over plus Calgary" and "The Great Canadian Skyline thread for cities 2,000,000 and under except Calgary"
^Nice shot. I had no idea St. Georges looked like that. Edit-just noticed it's from wiki, but nice find nonetheless.

Thanks SHH. That was my first time on Coxheath Mountain and I was surprised by both how much you could see there and also how everything lined up. Definitely going up there again next time I'm home in the "good weather" months.

Yeah, very nice town, on a hilly area. 30km of the US border. 1h of drive south of Quebec city by the A73. It's the main city of what we're calling the ''Beauce'' wich is a name of an old province in France aswell.

Here is another picture of the lovely hills in Maxime Bernier country.

I read an article today about one of the most depressing effects of Hurricane Leslie. St. John's got the hurricane-force winds, but not the rain - and it was already bone dry. Thus the storm pulled all the moisture out of the leaves and not only are they all changing weeks earlier than normal, but they're skipping their fall colours and going straight to brown.
On my way from St. Vital Centre to the Airport yesterday evening (I bought cajun food from Filipino ladies at the food court!) the bus I was on broke down (@armorand: #240 on the 55) and I took this shot from St. Mary's Riverbank.
I think Winnipeg seemed bigger when I was going to and from St. Vital Centre than it ever did when I was wandering around downtown. The strip malls and 50+ year old storefronts just don't seem to end.

Man, beautiful pictures. I love St Johns. Miss the rock.

This is a solid shot vid, I take it you were in Winnipeg recently? First time outside of downtown?

This is very similar to my shots here:
Two years the skyline will have a completely different form, with 7-8 gap filling towers rising in the next little while!

If only it was sunny there...
I went to Polo Park and the zoo back in June. On Monday I walked up North Main from Euclid to Kildonan Park, on Tuesday morning I went down to U of M on the RT and later on Tuesday evening on my way home stopped at St. Vital Centre and went up St. Mary's a bit. So while I was only actually in Winnipeg for 48 hours I saw a decent amount of the city. I also wandered all of Point Douglass on Monday morning and later Monday evening, it's very similar to where I live in Thunder Bay, but everything is multiplied by ten.
