I was in a meeting today and an engineer let it slip that they are working on a 50 storey tower in Winnipeg. That was all he said. Take it for what it's worth.
Is there a economic possibility that would allow for this to work? Interesting though we will have to wait and see lol

Nope, not April 1 yet. Good sign.

If that can come to fruition, It would be a positive effect for downtown and The Cityscape/skyline

Well this is a pleasant surprise for a Friday evening. The location could be one of those large parking lots on the east side of Main St between Broadway and Portage.
So what gets built first, this rumour of a rumour of a 50 story or the Sutton Place hotel? My money is on the 50 story lol.
I absolutely concur with you that the 50+ floor towers is erected much before Sutton Place. Perhaps Sutton will be ready for Winnipeg's 175th Birthday?

Could my dreams be coming true? Could it be the one? Might all of my hard work and persistence finally be paying off? Did enough people see it and say “for fuck’s sake, someone just build that damn building and shut that asshole up once and for all”

I drove past Buffalo Crossing on McGillivary. Looks like it is over 90% completed. I hope it is ready by April. I will try and snap some photos this weekend.
TV, do you think its the St regis site proposal, or something entirely different?
Side note. I was driving north across the Osborne bridge and the colony development has a really nice impact on that part of the skyline. Looks great when coming from the north as well. That thing flew up super quick.
I looked back a couple of pages, but couldn't find if there was a page for this project, but the former Capri Hotel project is underway.
Construction trailers are installed and site work is underway. Pre-Con Construction is the contractor. They build pretty quickly, so we should see some progress shortly.
I like how they kept the "Capri" name. And the the old satellite dish was finally removed.
