But I'm biased. You should ask this question to all the people who choose Saskatoon rather than Regina - a number that has been growing for a couple decades now.
By the way, Saskatoon's metropolitan population is bigger than Regina and Moose Jaw combined - we don't need the city of 40,000 only an hour down the road (we have one only 90 minutes down the road, if we need it).

Yiiikes, tell us how you really feel. That honestly made me laugh because of how bias you come across. I really do not want to turn this into Regina vs Saskatoon, because up until now I think everyone has been fairly good about it all, until you came and started spouting off.
A significantly better downtown? There are certainly some aspects I enjoy about Saskatoon's downtown but you are obviously uneducated on the matter. I wasn't aware of any empty office buildings, at least not anymore than Saskatoon.
As for residential, we actually have a four floor addition going on top of a 12 story condo buiilding. As well as last year a retirement complex was completed. Within the next couple of months we are expecting a conversion of the Leader building into artist lofts, art organization offices, and a grocery story. But wait, we don't have an arts scene...so that's somewhat of a waste. Oh did I mention the Qu'Appelle Diocese project, well if I didn't, that is to become home to about 1200 residents. But you're right, barely any residential going up. Not to mention Regina's downtown and area saw significant increases in population. But hey, it's easier to ignore the truth when presenting and uneducated argument.
Of course Saskatoon has the larger university. Although I would like to disagree that it is "your" university as it's called the University of Saskatchewan, not the University of Saskatoon. I should hope that the provincial university would be bigger than the University of Regina. I disagree that it is "better" because that's all a matter of what you are taking. Can I take dentistry at U of R, obviously not, thus U of S is "better." Can you take journalism at U of R, obviously not. The universites were designed to compliment one another. Take a look at the different engineering programs, both schools offer different programs. How can one be better than the other, you are comparing apples to oranges. My time at the U of S was filled with discontent towards the administration. Beautiful campus, but some aspects of the U of S are so far behind.
Regina has more parks per capita than any other Canadian city. Not sure how one of the largest urban parks in North America can be referred to as small, but then again you haven't made much sense in anything you've said. Restaurants other than chains? Oh right, I forgot all of the classy diners on 8th street, such as East Side Marios, Pizza Hut, Moxies. We could only be so lucky to have such establishments.
Again, it's sad that someone had to turn this thread into city vs city.
