You don't need floor plans to build a Lego model, unless its one complex son bitch

You will not find them online. They don't just hand out the prints, you have to have a very good reason for having them. And there is no way that anyone that does have them, like me, is going to send them to you. (They do not give out electronic copies due to the fact that is too easy to distribute them in that form.)

Good luck with that. Use your intuition, imagination, and the plethora of photographs and diagrams available on this thread and online. You will be hard pressed to get any legitimate bluprints from a development such as this. You have no credible reason to be in posession of them.

You don't really need floor plans for this building. It's purely geometric, if you have a few points of data you can mathematically calculate everything else. The three needed points are:

Height of Parapet: 1,368 feet (we're treating the north entrance as -4 here, so ignore the 1,373 number in the thread title)
Height of deflection point: 185 feet (the transition point between base and tower, the widest point of the building)
Width: 205 feet

With those 3 points, you can find the slope of the corner.

Take two more points:
Typical floor height: 13'4"
Roof Elevation: 1334'8"

and you can figure out how much each floor narrows. That's 90% of the work with this building. You don't need even 1 floor plan unless you're going to mockup the core area. This isn't a math class, so I'm not going to go step by step teach you how to use those numbers, but I can assure you that you can get an very accurate Tower 1 with just those numbers.

WTC Skyscraper Hit by Bond Woes

The troubled municipal-bond market could force the developer of a skyscraper at the World Trade Center to pay higher interest rates to investors in order to avoid a potential construction shutdown.

Developer Larry Silverstein and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns the building site in lower Manhattan, are planning to sell $1.37 billion in tax-exempt bonds needed to continue work on the 1.8 million square-foot skyscraper known as Tower 4. After being plagued by years of delays from political infighting and financial disputes, the building has risen 19 stories and is on track for completion at the end of 2013.

The bond sale previously was planned for last December, but Silverstein Properties and the Port Authority scrapped the offering when municipal-bond rates spiked to unacceptably high levels. The market has stabilized since then, but rates remain high and many borrowers are continuing to postpone bond sales in hopes that rates will decline.

Up until this point, Silverstein has used insurance funds to pay for construction, although that money is dwindling.

Agreed. I just deleted a long string of posts. Big Towers came here with his website, posted a stolen STR image and got ripped to shreds by everyone for it. I guess the whole thing was pretty funny, but it's way off-topic and generally nasty. Big Towers has received an infraction for blatant forumer image theft and saying that he produced the work.

Glad to see things back on track on this thread. Thanks Lacom for deleting the useless and irrelevant posts.

Anyways, I have found a picture of the corner nodes on the 1 WTC being installed. Credit to Discovery for the image. What surprises me is the size of the node, compared to a regular node that are used below floors 60. Damn, that thing is huge!

Question Looking for some photo views, please help!

Hello Skyscraperpage folks...

I live about 20 minutes away from the city and would like to start photographing the World Trade Center site on a regular basis. I would love to share these photographs on this forum each time I shoot.

Can you guys please recommend some higher vantage points where I could photograph from? I would like to get many angles. From the ground, it's pretty self explanatory, but from ABOVE I'm clueless as to where to get some good angles.

Recommendations are HIGHLY appreciated.

Thanks guys!!!

Thanks J.M.!

UPDATE:

According to the Discovery camera image, the blue coccoon wrap is being raised a couple floors upward. It seems from the wtcprogress camera that the 1WTC is almost equal height with the 7WTC!

Discovery cam today:

Cropped from http://www.wirednewyork.com/webcam/
Something else to note is the stump to the left of 7WTC is 4WTC or atleast where it'll rise anyway. Then 3 and 4 will come and steal its view.

Can't wait until the numero uno dominates it all when it gets topped off.

animatedmartian, that "stump" next to the 7WTC is actually the 123 Washington Street apartment tower.

And yes, thanks for the webcam image. It appears I was somewhat correct. However, 7 WTC is still a tab taller than 1 WTC at the moment.

I meant a little farther left, and a little farther lower.

Although, at this point it all looks like a jumbled mess of pixels and I'm still just making an educated guess, and that's sort of for another thread anyway.

Nonetheless, I look forward to 1 WTC passing 7 WTC soon.
