Impressive, there used to be a good relatively uninstructed view of downtown at the crest of the hill along Northwestern past Middlebelt.

The tree cover in the area has matured obscuring the view for the past decade probably not that I haven’t tried. Unfortunately the line of sight is directly down the highway and I don’t just trust standing on the reverse slope of a 8 lane highway focusing on a camera lense.

A bit of foreshadowing the new and improved Woodward streetwall. This was taken back in June by the looks of it the facade would be past the top of the frame now and the tower twice the height.

I love that about its location and height. Sort of gives folks a choice as to which face they want to show.

Agreed that’s a terrific vantage point nearly all of downtowns major greats are in frame at a flattering angle. The Hudson’s & the Book are the standouts but having the Park Ave & UA buildings under renovation makes a big difference as well.

That’s a terrific photo great find! The background has the skyline is in a very ascetically pleasing alignment & amazing backlighting coming from the morning sun off the clouds. The foreground setting is pleasing as well the old brick chimney fits nicely between the Book & Masonic Temple & draws attention to the beautifully preserved Victorian home in the heart of midtown.

Wow, those are awesome! I was starting to get skeptical that it would actually be perceivably taller than Ally or Penobscot, but it does look taller. Might be topped out at this point.

Kinda dig this photo the Hudsons Tower will be impactful in from the east. I do kinda love the brutalist apartment tower they painted green it shows an understanding that brutalism can be beautiful you just need to add in some greenery. Though I suppose if it’s cheaper just fake it till you make it with some green cladding.

Sorry Detroit Hudsons doesn’t belong to you. The Patent trademark office gives bedrock the middle finger. Michigan vs everybody eh?

Trademarks allow businesses to protect their brand identity from copycats and differentiate themselves from competitors at a national level.

A trademark officer examiner claimed that Bedrock's proposals are too similar to existing trademarks containing the words "Hudson" or "Hudsons," and therefore pose a likelihood of causing confusion among consumers. The trademark office gave Bedrock three months to respond to its Dec. 7 preliminary decision to not register the marks.

-Two existing trademarks cited by the examiner as too similar to Bedrock's proposed Hudson's site marks are for restaurants that appear to be permanently closed. Those restaurants were Hudson's at Pier 81, located in New York City, and Hudsons on the Mile, located in Freeport, New York.

-Another trademark cited by the examiner, for Hudsons Coffee, belongs to an Australian chain of coffee shops — with no U.S. locations on its website.

-And a trademark for a Hudson hotel was for a shuttered 24-story hotel in New York City that, according to news reports, closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and then was sold and slated for redevelopment as housing.
