Wow, I know you're showing the current status of the Elysian, but Hancock steals the show. Nice shots.

You won't be able to see the Elysian from them!

That is 900 North Michigan.... I use to live in that building but I had an east view before I left. I know that they are adding about 15 new condo's there. Tell dad Great shot and we appreciate him taking the time to give us a different perspective

That's ironic in more ways than one, considering that this statement was originally applied by disdainful Parisians to the Eiffel Tower.

^ In an effort to see the glass as half-full, at least it's not red, white, and blue to match the American flag or the Cubs insignia

Ummm its supposed to be copper, copper does not come green, it comes brown. If they don't cheap out and actually install copper I'll be quite pleased.

Copper starts out green and turns brown with oxidation. The top of the Trump Building in downtown Manhattan (40 Wall Street) was originally green; but quickly changed color.
Its present greenness is thanks to recent renovations.

nope, you've got that backwards. new copper starts out with that metalic-brownish color, but due to oxidation and other processes, it develops its trademark green patina over time.

It is important to note that in contrast to the oxidation of iron by wet air that the layer formed by the reaction of air with copper has a protective effect against further corrosion. On old copper roofs a green layer of copper carbonate, called verdigris, can often be seen. Another notable example of this is on the Statue of Liberty."

"Copper has been used as water-proof roofing material since ancient times, giving many old buildings their greenish roofs and domes. Initially copper oxide forms, replaced by cuprous and cupric sulfide, and finally by copper carbonate. The final carbonate patina is highly resistant to corrosion"
