Is the streetcar service going to be extended beyond the current Victoria Day-Labour Day schedule (And then weekends only to Thanksgiving)?
I would think that if infrastructure for a gondola is going to make sense, it would have to be operational year round unlike the streetcar, which is basically a summer attraction.
Although I have to say, having the streetcar operating year round would be a game changer for transit users living in the western part of downtown or Oliver. When I lived by Jasper @ 110, I seldom went to Whyte unless I had a specific reason to go, just because getting there meant a longish walk followed by bus ride, or LRT + bus ride. The streetcar taking you right to the heart of Old Strathcona any day of the year would be a phenomenal amenity.
