True, judgment is best reserved in person, and when it's all done.
But this city repeatedly fails to understand that simple is the way to go when it comes to parks, in my opinion. How many times has Gore Park been "rejuvenated"? Some change is necessary over time as issues arise or things deteriorate, but to me the best park spaces tend to be the ones laid out with the basics: trees and greenery, pathways, benches, perhaps a formal gathering spot. Let the public just "be" within them. Bayfront Park is a prime example... I think it was a resounding success, its original design, that has only improved as trees have matured and Hamiltonians have appreciated it. And now its a part of a much lengthier system all along the west harbour and into Cootes Paradise. But how long before a city council decides it needs to be "renewed"??? (Commonwealth Games visions notwithstanding)
