Here's the commercial I remember being rerun the most from him, it's at least 9 or 10 years old by now:

Just seeing this commercial made me a bit....mad....I can't stand this guy.

I've seen this commercial a bit too....:

That’s so..... embarassing....

Apparently he was taken to court by DC comics at one point.

These guys (Au Bon Marche) with their terrible accents and their arm movements were the undisputed Kings of cheesy commercials during the 80s in Montreal. You couldn't watch TV on any Canadian station (french or english) for more than 20 minutes without being exposed to one of their so-bad-its-good commercials. Nobody came close. Except maybe the 2525 laurentian-plymouth Chrysler guy. Worth it for the K-cars.

Stores are usually a mess but ours must have good employees and the Website is brilliant.
Canadian Tire's in-store service sucks pretty much across the board but I am still glad it's there. Over the years my appreciation of the store has grown, largely due to friends who are immigrants and did not grow up with the chain so did not take it for granted. They absolutely love Canadian Tire because in their words: "if you need it and it exists, they have it". The first time someone told me that, I thought for a second: "yeah, that's quite true".
