And who could forget the fact that it’s falling apart (and had to get asbestos removed at one point). Just lovely.

Renovation problems.

I believe they decided to save it (despite the aforementioned problems) and still stands as a school to this day.
HA! That's my alma mater, Sherwood. When I first went to Sherwood they had just finished the stucco. There was one hole that had my ass imprint lol, I was leaning on it and suddenly my ass went though haha.

Anyways, the main floor of Sherwood is nice as there's three hallways with an atrium, so you had windows and natural light. So that was unique and having central air conditioning was a winner, since it's the only high school on the mountain with A/C.

at my alma matter there’s a dent in one of the tables where my head went (long story). That sounds pretty nice.

The Toronto Airport Radisson is downright Trumpian.

The Westin Harbour Castle: or how to waste prime waterfront space on a fugly concrete bunker. Probably my least favourite building on the waterfront. It’s just so ginormous and so aesthetically unappealing and drab and just flat out cold and dystopian. Just awful.

What is that hotel even trying to replicate there? (The Radisson)

As for the Westin I don't mind it so much anymore as it stands in nice contrast to all the glass condos. Ground level is a total loss though.

This proposal from Hamilton looks like a tall skinny version of our London condos. The hat is awful. From the city proposals thread:

Funny part is it’s not even downtown, but in the suburbs beside the QEW where ridiculous height restrictions don’t apply

The high school had a campus that was known as "The Bomb Shelter". Literally because the few windows it did have were frosted. The campus was let go by the high school the summer I left and became a Montessori elementary and junior school I believe. Over the years, the school had been many things. My mom went to it when it was a junior high school, when it had former CFL star Johnny Bright as its principal.

Yeah it is a fugly bunker. The concrete wall condo towers adjacent are even more horrid. The area has much improved over the years, but it is criminal that these buildings are so prominent from the waterfront.

Canada in general is disastrous for the rate at which we're destroying old buildings (and replacing them by mostly crap). Heritage preservation is truly pathetic everywhere in this country (compared to what it should be, i.e. there's none where there should be some, some where there should be a lot, and a decent amount where there should be a hell of a lot more).

Inspiring. The missing O makes it. It’s as happy looking as Les Residences Soleil with the tempo entrance and the inflatable flailing arm men out front.

Agreed. We just lost another historic building here to a fire after it was basically left to demo by neglect. Council voted to save it but then let it sit and rot, waiting for someone to burn it down.

High Point Mall is brutal just brutal. I remember walking into that prison of a building and thinking wow this is a Mall? Looks more like the inside of a prison. It doesn’t help that it’s listed as a hair salon on google .

Those are horrendous. It is absolutely criminal. The Three Ugly Sisters are also prominent on the waterfront.

Than you have dreck like this all over the waterfront. All are a dime a dozen bland glass towers. It is getting better but we still have them.

This building in Mississauga always looked awful to me. Its such an 80s relic.

The way it meets the street is even worse. Just a sea of blue glass and giant fugly concrete stairs. It turns its back on the street exponentially, leading to a bland slablike wall of blue glass and a huge patch of blank sidewalk.

The nadir of its bulkiness. Complete with other godawful buildings
