Since the topic today has been towards office construction and since the Denver-Julesburg Basin (and fracking) has created significant demand for office space, I found this rather interesting update on the state of things in the oil patch for anyone who's curious.

If it was just conceptual and now perhaps outdated, it wont hurt much sharing.. Hopefully some version of this gets out of the ground!

IIRC, this too is included in the Klipp renderings

The first half of this complex seems to go up about 20 or so stories, and then the diagonal section on top (for lack of a better description here that I know) seems to be about another 20 stories. So in total this is about a 40 story building (maybe a couple of more floors plus) so if were talking about this here..... I don't see how it can be 1,000 ft.? Maybe around 600 ft or so?

That wasn't the rendering. It had a 32 story office tower on California and a 30 story hotel at 15th & Welton with an observation tower above that reached just over 1,000 ft.

The Klipp ones are definitely very old. What BG918 said is pretty consistent with the latest I heard (although the 1000' sounds high to me). Anyway, it's unethical for someone to publicly post a design or rendering or whatever that they obtained in confidence without the explicit authorization of the owner.

That's not unethical at all, it's just expensive.

Sure. If it's been filed with the city.

But what happened last time was some guy, who claimed to be working on the Block 162 development team, posted a rendering of the design they were working on at a point when clearly it was not a matter of public record yet, and highly likely that the owner would not want it to be made public.

I don't know why I love this so much even though it has a dreadful 70's era look to it with the rendering. If it was mostly glass is what I am thinking it would just be possibly somehow the sexiest building downtown.

From what I've heard, the "Rhino Art District" is bounded by roughly I-70 on the north, I-25 to the west and north of Brighton Blvd roughly and Curtis Park on the East. Previously, it was the area where you could find cabinet makers, furniture makers and stained glass. Now there are a number of art galleries popping up. Hopefully, this is what you are looking for....
