East Lansing -

TechSmith (a software company) is relocating its operations from Okemos to East Lansing. There was a groundbreaking this past Wednesday for the new facility, to be built at 14 Crescent Rd. The 62,500 SF, two-story building is being developed in partnership with MSU and the MSU foundation. Capital investments are estimated at $15 million.

Mason -

The new ~ 170,000 SF Ingham County Justice Complex broke ground in April and is well underway in Mason. The new complex will house the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, Correctional Facility, and 55th District Court facilities. The $70 million development is under construction near the existing facilities. BKV Group is the architect and ranger Construction is the CM. Construction is expected to wrap up August 2023.

By the way, Mason is rather unique, in the sense that it is the only city in the United States that serves as a county seat ahead of a state capital (Lansing is also largely located within Ingham County).

Here's a pretty big one for Lansing -

The developers of City View Apartments broke ground last month at the former Lake Trust Credit Union HQ. The development will bring 172 units to 501 and 503 S. Capitol Ave. in downtown Lansing. There will be 55 apartments in the repurposed HQ, and an additional 113 units in a new, adjacent building, which will also include 18,000 SF of commercial-retail space, 5,000 SF of which will be for a new gym and yoga studio called the Training Factory. The entire project represents a combined investment of more than $31 million and is expected to be complete in late 2022 -
