Question A New Thread

If a new thread is to be started, perhaps, a brief discussion by forum members about how it should begin would be helpful and ensure the first page that lists all developments could be better maintained.

I'd like to make a few suggestions: the thread starter should be a local resident and be willing to make the long term commitment to keep the first page up to date. It could be for four or five years.

There are a few people I'd like to nominate: Terminus, Mayhem, micropundit, gttx, and cabasse. Those are a few just off the top of my head.

Personally, I think Terminus is one of the most knowledgeable people contributing to the forum and he'd be my first choice (I've never met him nor have any affiliation with him whatsoever.)

There are many others who'd do a fine job. What do you all think?

There's so much happening ! What exciting times for our great city.

608 Ralph McGill Boulevard

A new multifamily residential project in the works for the Old Fourth Ward: 608 Ralph McGill ,to be developed by Inland Atlantic. The project "may include up to 217 units," likely made up of 116 one-bedrooms, 10 townhomes, 54 studios and a smattering of other sizes.

Aside from the initial elevation at the intersection of Glen Iris and Ralph McGill, it's completely flat and mostly untouched, although a tree or two may have been removed in the not-too-distant past. John Weiland's potential townhome project would be built across the street, directly to the south.

With all the focus going to Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market, thought I'd post a pic of this little development in O4W on Ralph McGill. It will contain 2 or 3 retail/restaurant spaces. One of which will be a restaurant/bar/music venue called Venkmen's.

If we all decide to have an new thread.I WOULD like to make it and I have a reason for that.
And that reason is:

-It will come with videos, photos and collages I have been workinG on with all the new developments going on.

-It will be cool with a possibly timeline.

-Videos on just about every developments.

-Will be like a City Book on a blog.

- And it will be an opportunity for all of us to pitch in ideas and it will be more surprises along.

(I REALLY LOVE ATL)

Hey, thanks for the shout out! While I would have loved doing this a few years ago, I unfortunately haven't lived in Atlanta for a few years. I check in often to keep up with what's going on - and I visit pretty regularly - but I definitely don't have my finger on the pulse of all development in the city like I used to.

It's broken. Was it this, or is there a better rendering somewhere?

^No, RocketSurgeon - that's the original. I thought the new one was gorgeous, but it's vanished.

I just spent about 30 minutes trying find it....

^^ It looks like the same design, just a more detailed rendering. I remember you being impressed with the building at the DRC meeting and now I can see why.

Yes I really liked this one. It did have a deck on spring, which is unfortunate, but it did include 20' deep retail bays along it, and they were trying to create an interesting facade on it. Not ideal, but at least something. Then a retail space facing West Peachtree if I recall correctly, and leasing and units facing the new portion of 15th street. The extension of 15th street is very important IMO. A lot of things going for this project.

This stretch of West Peachtree is going to be dramatically different and more vibrant in a few years.
