That's Trevor Southey's artwork... He was an art professor at BYU. I have some of his artwork in my home.

...Oh, I'm at the top! I'm going to bump this again:

AMAZON HEADQUARTERS ll
SALT LAKE CITY, UT

Option 1: Downtown Salt Lake City (South Main Anchor)(RGB Lines)

Option 2: Agriculture Park (Adjacent to FairPark and Jordan River Trail)(Green Line)

And don't forget- this cost $325,000
That is awful. Who approves this stuff? Let the public decide this stuff, or let the architect decide as well.

Actually, I do know of plans to build there, at least I did a while ago. Who knows if they are part of a plan that they want to hold to themselves until the proper time to announce them.

Sorry, off-topic.

Make a map that includes the fleet block(300 w 800s). You could include the land the 9th s viaduct sits on between 300 W and W Temple. That alone is around 20 acres.

Who cares? Can we stop talking about this before this topic derails in to insanity again?

I've been enjoying the actually relevant things we've been discussing lately. We've only just started getting this topic back on track. This Denver vs SLC shit is completely unproductive and irrelevant. Both cities have their own charm, their own pros and cons. Some things are done better by 1 city, and some things are done better by the other city, and most things are just done differently. SLC is SLC, Denver is Denver. How hard is it to keep it that way?

I agree. I ride the 200 bus frequently and I love seeing that mural. It's really cool, and definitely the kind of art we should be encouraging.

Sorry, off-topic.
Im a senior at west. Ask me anything

Two of our classrooms no longer have ceilings... there are STILL bats flying around the halls. The school is essentially "unsealable", the CDC is at our school every day and they have meetings with kids who got bit or scratched by bats. It's time for west to get a new building, and as historic of a building as it is, it's functionally decrepit... time to issue some bonds, lol..

I'd be glad to post some videos for anyone interested

If Amazon is looking for a massive incentive package that could backfire for the incentive giver, I don't want HQ2 and I feel sorry for the city that "wins" it.

I'm hoping Amazon will put more emphasis on other things and accept modest incentives conditional on Amazon's fulfillment if its own promises. I would hope Amazon is the type of company that wants to be in a city that doesn't use taxpayer money irresponsibly. Salt Lake isn't perfect in that regard (as evidenced by the 300k dollar dead giraffe mural), but it's way better than cities like Chicago that will probably offer billions.

Not to turn this into a Denver thread, but given the recent comments here, the timing of this article made laugh. Good for Denver if they actually get this.

After passing by the art on the DA offices today, I gotta say it looks a lot better in person. It's a cool effect and I kinda like the giraffe print, to be honest.
