I can't help but notice that calling out someone for their thinly veiled bigotry gets more pushback and sparks a bigger thread than the bigotry did in the first place. I have to question how sincere these requests for civility are when I only see them being applied in defense of skylar, this is hardly the first time

In other news, the old Manitoba conservation building on Salteaux crescent is a thing of the past. I believe that WinPak is building an expansion in its place.

re the Kromar Building - I think the building would make for a great redevelopment into multi-family apartments. Decent location. Would require some new and larger windows to be cut into the facades.

Two issues that would make it a challenging sale though - one would be the east wall has no window exposure due to the neighbouring building, and I think the biggest factor to a sale would be the large 20,000 sq ft or so, single storey warehouse part on the north side of the building. Hard to know what to do with that.

So by me stating that a First Nation of less than 10K acquiring a huge building for their office space is unnecessary and hardly practical that this is now considered racist amongst todays woke left who see anything they don’t agree with as something to denigrate!

With some minor conversion that warehouse could be a secure garage for cars and bikes and maybe some of it could be left for storage units for residents? Secure parking would probably be a great selling point for residents on that edge of downtown.

^^^ I thought of that, it still seems awfully large for that purpose.

Sorry for the off topic, but I am stil upset over the whole sky city centre fiasco. Every time I drive on main or up fort or garry st past Graham I always think there really needs to be a tall building there. Something atleast 150 meters tall. Those parking lots on Graham both really need something tall there. Sorry for the off topic.

Anyone heard anything about Sutton Place Hotel or 185 Donald/300 Saint Mary's recently? It would be great to see those two projects get underway again.

Scaffolding going up around the whole building on the southwest corner of Portage & Main. Anyone know what that is about? The windows were already all replaced 2-3 years ago.

Donald is listed for sale again? Was it not listed previously?

Edit.
It is listed. Wondering if was not listed at one point. The negotiations were to come to and end next week.

Man. That was going to be a nice building. Spent all of Covid working on that.

Not true. The City required very little parking as it was TOD. The land purchase agreement from Winter Club had a caveat stipulating 1.5 stalls per unit (very high for a TOD).

That’s awesome. The equivalent of a 25 storey tower every year. How did you figure that out?
