Lol, in Utah you get DEEP philosophical questions such as starting at 5:35 on the second video.

That’s funny. I tend to consider myself somewhat academically inclined, but I have to admit that I have thought that exact same thing.

This was taken yesterday by Trustevil over on Skyscapercity.com. They have a few nice pics of recent developments. Not as prolific as we are, but some nice shots. Looks like the top framework is going up on LibertySky

Here's a great shot of 95 So State. Really captures the beauty of the glass that everyone appreciates.

This might be an older shot, but I really like how transparent the glass is on 95 state in the mornings and evenings. More than most, I’d say. It’s cool that the tower looks different at different times a day.

I'm pretty sure the sky in that photo is a photoshop job, unfortunately. There were some similar images of 111 Main recently that were produced for office space advertisements. The building still looks nice though.

New TSA Development - 35 North 900 West

https://citizenportal.slcgov.com/Cit...howInspection=

Another project to add to the absolute cascade of planned developments in the North Temple neighborhood, especially near the Jackson/Euclid TRAX Station.

Architect: di'velept design

Owner: Renovate Home Group

Project Summary:
35 North 900 West is a prosed 90 unit apartment project located near the Utah State Fairpark. It will be one building on combined parcels that equal 0.38 acres.

The building will have Studios, 1 Bedroom, and 2 Bedroom units. This project will be replacing an existing empty lot.

IT HAS 30 PARKING SPACES FOR A PARKING RATIO OF 0.34 (That's more like it, eh?)

Zoning: TSA-UNC
Max Building Height: 75'
Proposed Height: 68'-2"

Current Site Conditions:

Project Renderings & Site Plan:

Elevations:

It's important to note that the same developer also owns the parcels directly south of this project. I expect that's a sign we will get a similar if not an outright identical/reflected project on that site as well. They have filed a zoning verification letter for that site: https://citizenportal.slcgov.com/Cit...howInspection=

Courtesy of Salt Lake Tribune, looks like the shipping container complex is pretty much done.

Noted. I added that to my database request.

Also, I wrote a "Cityscape" section for the SLC Wikipedia page and added a new original image. Many cities have such a section and downtown SLC wasn't really featured anywhere else in the article. Let me know what you all think. I may eventually make articles for buildings like the Hotel Monaco and Hotel Newhouse, just because I think there's some good history there.

I think I will try to take some newer skyline shots next time I'm in town because the ones on the various SLC pages are very outdated. Lastly, I noticed that someone has been on task with updating the "Tallest Buildings" article with our new proposals, so keep up the good work with that!

I don't know about anyone else, but that doesn't help their case in my eyes. Seems really desperate and unprofessional.

The Modern Display location on 700 east 400 south next to Trader Joes is relocating, so I’m assuming a new multi-family will pop up in a couple years, given the right buyer. Hopefully the Flats on 4 South project gets moving too.
This is interesting news, mostly because I used to work there. They own a big chunk of land on that block with warehouses. They also owned Ensign Floral that took up the space where Liberty Square went. Hopefully a developer could get the gas station on the corner and make a big parcel. A good development opportunity.

That's about what their entire campaign has been like so far, so I'm not surprised.

I'm glad somebody is taking an interest in that page. The SLC Wikipedia page is a bit of a mess and it's barely been worked on in years. Many sections need big re-writes.

I love this video. Anyone who says Salt Lake has no nightlife should watch this. It really highlights how big the Open Streets thing could be too. Seeing people sprawl across the road is a great sight.

Marvland, I thought you were working on a Distillery on the site to the south of this apartment. Did those plans fall through?

I'm almost certain that the circled site was at one point going to be a distillery. Losing that and Grid City to SSL is keeping Euclid dry as a bone.

In other news for the North Temple corridor, construction has started on the Folsom corridor trail from the North Temple Frontrunner station to 1000 West. The fencing is up, and construction should complete in December. Now the city needs to get right of way for the last 2 blocks to the Jordan River.

I went to dinner last night with friends who are members of the Greek Orthodox Community Board.

They indicated that the next step for the Greek Town development was for a meeting of Woodbury's attorney with the city's and church's attorneys. If all goes well, they indicated that groundbreaking could occur as early as this fall.
