I know eh! But I can assure you that it is not! There are some pretty crazy people living there. I have no idea how it got its name. The only thing that I can think of in Timmins with that name is the French-Catholic church Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix. (formerly known as Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes until about 15 years ago)
It is located close to the former Malette Lumber and I'm guessing that's why it is located where it is. It also is a good example of why Timmins probably has the highest rate of poverty of any city in Ontario.
