Hardly 'very little'.

Ron.
I meant from a customer-facing perspective, not from an operational one. Fair point, though.

Thanks.

Yikes - looks like a piecemeal patch job.

They should replace the entire façade.

The problem Sobeys has had is Western Canada. The former CEO explained that it was softening sales across the board in the west. In reality they messed up on the Safeway integration and there was likely also some softening.

In Alberta and Saskatchewan they had empty shelves and in some cases no inventory for flyer featured products. (Basically IT software problems) Something customers do not respond well to. In AB and SK Co-op is also a very strong player and SaveOn is a very minor to non-existent player. This appears to be where they had the biggest problems and how Sobeys is trying to reposition Safeway as a lower cost competitor.

They are treating all of Western Canada the same way.

Once all of this settles out it will all change again. All the brands are moving to online groceries. Amazon is doing it in US cities and will come to Canada sooner or latter. Google is doing online groceries in San Francisco.

Yeah I'd love to see that old terracotta facade that's been unfortunately placed; removed and placed where it can function again as an entrance. There's 2 or 3 small old terracotta facades that have been inappropriately placed high up on new podiums in that area. The pink stone is quite overpowering in it's use, typical of the era it was built. Maybe they're going for the layered facade look

Wow, Pacific Centre is now certainly one giant hodgepodge complex. Big mistake for Holts not to keep the facade cohesive and in keeping with the Dunsmuir and Granville sides.

Yes that's an oft-forgotten fact here.

That store called Accents@Home has taken over the Home Outfitters space at Metropolis@Metrotown (i.e. no Uniqlo).

Not certain, most of the ones I have seen have been very disruptive and in several cases the SAP deployment a causal factor in the company going under. If they survive the SAP installation they are usually much more efficient on the other end.

The target issue was the software was sending the wrong product to the wrong store, overstocked in some location (and not being able to put it on the floor) and understock in other locations. Ironically Sobeys was the primary supplier to Target groceries department.

Superstore in Coquitlam, Lougheed near IKEA has expanded filling in the empty space in front with space for 3 reatilers or whatever, dollarama is one of them, the garden centre is being moved to the other side
