Thanks.
At least it says "Brentwood".
That's a bit less prison-like.

Nothing more homey than living in "Tower E" or "Tower F"!
They could choose names alphabetically? Maybe based on flowers, trees, animals or fish?
You can thank the RFD for those cozy sounding names making it from planning documents to the official addresses....

Some renderings I haven't seen before in this Sept 2024 Development Permit Panel with some minor revisions to the facades above the retail units. I've only circled the outside of the project but it's nice to know there's a retail element on the inner road.

Another one from July 2024 from Zeidler with some new Galleria changes/new entrances

This document has more detailed information on the facade changes including CF's design guidelines for retail tenants

Ugh, not a fan of this trend of boxing-out round building features in every renovation, especially when they're keeping the arched skylight anyway. Not great for wayfinding anyway when the exterior form has no relationship to the interior. I would've cladded the main arch in bronze metal, and make it distinct from the rest of the reno:

I agree completely. Really like the idea of adding color to the arch to make it a distinct point for wayfinding.

"Meet me right next to the bronze arch entrance" is so much easier than, however you would describe what CF has come up with.

It looks like the redesign is just to have a place for their signage.

I was wondering why both Starbucks and % Arabica chose to open inside the mall instead of in the new outdoor section, seems like a missed opportunity.

Also the entrance could have incorporated a screen.

Foot traffic will be night and day between the two.

Richmond Centre Condo Complex Receives 1,212 EV Chargers

Richmond Centre’s backers and partners have delivered the largest multi-residential EV-charging project in Canada by installing 1,212 Elocity smart chargers in its parkade — an area the size of six football fields.

The 1,212 EV chargers are included a multi-residential complex surrounding Cadillac Fairview’s Richmond Centre mall in Richmond, B.C., which is undergoing a major redevelopment.

Cadillac Fairview is partnering on the 12-tower redevelopment project with local developer Shape Properties and GBL Architects.

The charger project, completed by Enlightened Building Technologies using Canadian-made infrastructure, positions the B.C. development among the most extensive single-location EV charging deployments in North America, according to a news release. The system includes advanced energy-management software to balance demand and reduce costs while minimizing strain on the electrical grid.
https://www.connectcre.ca/stories/ri...2-ev-chargers/

I think they had 3900 parking spots planned at completion for residents/mall customers.

I recently walked around this project. One thing I noticed is the severe lack of greenspace and trees. This project seems like a concrete jungle. It is quite different than some of the other larger projects in Richmond like Concord Gardens for example. Anyone else noticed this?

There'd be rooftop areas on the podium.

The Vancouver Art Gallery tree better have programmable LED lights.

Quote:
At 78 ft. tall, it is officially Metro Vancouver’s tallest Christmas tree — soaring two ft. higher than the Vancouver Art Gallery’s annual holiday tree and a full 18 ft. taller than Surrey Civic Plaza’s. But its impressive height is only part of the story.

This is also Metro Vancouver’s most high-tech Christmas tree, featuring thousands of vibrant, programmable LED lights capable of producing dazzling holiday shapes and sequences. The light show is choreographed to a soundtrack of beloved Christmas classics, creating a joyful and immersive festive experience.

I saw it in person. Pretty cool display but really short! Worth the detour for sure though if you're already in the mall and it happens about that time they're doing it.

I saw the tree today, I didn't see the show. I never saw any signage that listed the times of the show, I googled it when looking at the tree and we had missed one by 20 minutes. The full show is at 2 pm, 4, 6 and 8. It does do random lights at the other times but nothing like the show.

Took some pics, the outside mall extension street is now fully opened. Here is a tip, when going to park the rest of the mall parking was looking bumper to bumper as people tried to find a spot, but there is a new underground parking area that had loads of spots, according to a news article I read the other day this new parking lot has not been discovered yet and sits mostly empty most days, even today maybe 25% of the spots were being used. You can find the entrance off Minoru at the south end of the mall.

despite the rumours on Social Media saying that % Arabica was going to open on Nov 29th it was still not opened. The Starbucks was insanely busy.

I went to Richmond Centre again on Saturday, the undergorund parking is still 2/3rds empty and people are circling and driving slowly in the old parking lots to park.

I noticed this time that when you drive in it shows how many spots are available on a counter by the entrance and when inside there are red or green lights on what parking spots are free or being used. Some of the lights were green despite a car parked in the spot.
