Missed this from 2 weeks ago. I haven't found many other construction photos, but from the renderings, it looks like this is a pretty nice upgrade. Phased construction is still ongoing.

New State High Building Opens

There is still work to be done, but after nearly two years of construction and many more of planning, the State High project reached a major milestone on Monday. As about 2,300 students returned from winter break, they started things off with a pep rally in the north building gym, complete with the marching band. They then headed across Westerly Parkway to begin classes in the new south building, the first phase of a $137 million, three-phase project...

I like the scale of this project and the integration of the new Hillel community center on Beaver. Hopefully, the trend of building larger and taller mixed-use projects such as this and RISE will continue.

I just hope that the NIMBYS are ignored. I know there is a growing sentiment among a few that these larger mixed-use projects are destroying the scale and character of downtown State College. I suppose they rather see fertile farm land and wooded properties plowed over for low density tract housing like over in Toftrees.

The historic Glennland Building on Beaver Ave. I believe this will be a very nice upgrade for hotels in town.

State College recently rolled out an interactive map to provide updates on construction projects happening in the Borough. You can look at it here. It's actually pretty handy, as it includes the current status, the date of plan review submittal, a well as project description, developer, rendering, etc.

Edit: Totally missed that pahighrise posted a link to the exact same site.

Nice. Thanks for sharing. And... I totally missed the fact that you posted a link to the exact same planning website, several posts before me. Sorry about that.

I guess not everyone is happy about the growth of downtown:

http://www.witf.org/news/2018/08/hou...f-the-town.php

This sentiment is happening in Ithaca too.

I did find this article ref: the James Building on S. Burrowes St in downtown:

http://www.statecollege.com/news/loc...llege,1477284/

Here's the building:

Any one know any more about this one?
