And the building behind that "LibraryTower's Cousin" reminds me of Figueroa At Wilshire. They both have the same top and lit the same, with the same color and kinda the same body.
Their colors are pretty much the same as LA's.
Another thing is that, their main skyline is small.
And last, their skyline is crowded with their tallest buildings.

I have loved this building since the first time I saw it (in Independence Day). I like the "crown" and how tall it is for it's height. The proportions really make it soar. I think it is a great centerpiece for L.A.

Detroit needs something like this to shift the visual center of downtown back away from the Ren Cen.

Ah glorious Liberty Tower.

One of the VERY few High Rises built past 1940 I actually approve of!
I may get in trouble for saying this, but it has always felt like a "Round" version of a classic Art Deco Tower with a modern twist.

The flow of it, the crown, the decorations.
If only more modern works tried to be so orginal and different

This has always been one of my favourite skyscrapers. It looks fantastic in the shape and crown. A spire would turn this beauty into a monstrosity.
Personally I would love to see something very similar looking constructed in Toronto. I think it would add to and blend perfectly with our skyline.

It's pretty cool that they let you into the building lobby, and let you take pictures!
Security at One Penn Plaza in NYC wouldn't let my friend and I take pics of the lobby, and One Penn is a much less high profile building.

I love the decorations, those angels are gorgeous. And it was hard to make out the writing on the wall, but it looks like they've inscribed it with a bit of Los Angeles history. Talk about civic pride

Well my plan was to go to the top of the building, but the security guard told me I wasn't allowed in the building. So on my way out I decided to take some nice pictures of the lobby, I tried to take a panorama, but the guard told me to leave. AGAIN!

Well one thing to be considered is the One Penn has many governmental offices in it.

^Didn't know that. I like that lobby in One Penn..Minimalist, but they use some nice materials- lots of unpolished black granite and stainless steel. I've seen pics showing the building's "1" logo in red granite on the floor, too bad it's often covered up with floormats.

Love this tower!!! My favorite. I do wish those pictures of the lobby were posted again. I haven never been in it! Also someone had asked about the top floor with continuous window all around. I also wonder what's on that floor.

Why dont they make the tower tourist friendly? You'd think the city with the tallest building in the west coast would take pride in it's status on that side.

The only way (I know of) to get inside the building is to run in the stair run they have every summer. Or if you know someone that works there.

I did the run in 2008 and it was a whole lot of fun, if not tiring. But man, the view from the roof was amazing.

I think this building deserves some kind of an observation deck on some of the uppermost floors. It would make LA a better place to visit or for the locals a good place to drive up to.

It should be located on the floor directly below the "us bank" sign, on the floor surrounded 360 degrees with blue tinted windows.

re. Observation Decks...Were getting one on the 72nd floor of the Wilshire Grand Tower so it fills a big void in LA. The fact that its a hotel and not an office building really makes more sense too.

I think we are also getting one at the taller Millennium tower in Hollywood.
