From Mike McIntyre on Twitter

"Mike McIntyre @mikemcintyrewpg Nov 9

I crunched some #NHLJets attendance numbers.

Last season average after first 9 home games: 11,874 (0 sellouts, smallest crowd 11,136)

This season average after first 9 home games; 13,764 (2 sellouts, smallest crowd 12,912).

Nearly 2,000 per game jump year-over-year so far."

We are now the fastest team ever in the NHL to reach 30 points.

This team is making history in every aspect of the game! Even the old Jets in the NHL era were never this good! The Rags were a very good test. Now it's a rematch with the Lightning on Thursday, and then a home and home series with the defending Stanley Cup Champions after that.

Also, I'm okay of our team flying under the radar among the mainstream sports media, despite the current records and stats we have this season. Let all those talking heads at Sportsnet and TSN talk about the Leafs and Oilers all they want. We're just here to win games night in and night out.

Will this streak last? Probably not, and that's okay. I'm enjoying every minute of hockey this team is doing this season. Tonight, we took down one of the best teams in the NHL where both the Jets and Rangers tested each other, and boy was it a very entertaining game.

Just going to re-quote myself from when they were 11-1.

Well said!

I actually think the Jets thrive when they're a little bit under appreciated. They play like they have something to prove, and I think that's bringing out the best in them this season.

I know the fans would love to see a little more attention from the national/international media, but I'm not sure that would be such a good thing. We can't expect to be loved by the media in New York, for example, when a team from little old Winnipeg beats their guys. I suspect increased media attention would just focus on the same old negative talking points; it's cold in the winter, Winnipeg's too small for a team, we don't "deserve" a team, etc. etc. blah blah blah.

So, as The Jabroni said, let's enjoy the ride and support our guys. Go Jets!

I'm cheering for a Jets vs Blue Jackets Stanley Cup final. The exploding heads in Toronto and New York would be epic!!!

When?? Blue Jackets are definately not in contention. Jets vs Panthers would be particularly intriguing considering Maurice's statement when he won the cup last year. ('My wish is that the Jets win the cup next year!')

I'd take it a step further and make it a Jets vs. Sens final.

That will piss off ALL of Canada, never mind America.

Good news: Connor Hellebuyck becomes the second fastest goalies to reach 300 Wins in NHL history

Bad News: Logan Stanley still plays on the Jets.

Tomorrow the Jets host the U.S.-based Carolina Hurricanes. It'll be the first home game against an American-based team since Mr. Orange's trade-attack on Canada.

I think most of us have seen/read about the Toronto Raptor's fans recent booing the U.S. national anthem. I'm hoping the Jets fans don't simply ape this behaviour. It's not out of any love for the U.S. at the moment or any fear of the debauched criminal currently in charge of that country, but I think it would be kind of a low-class thing to do. The Jets have a number of great U.S.-born players on their side, as Carolina has Canadians. I'm sure hearing one's country get booed doesn't help their effort or their desire to simply do their job and play an entertaining game of hockey.

On the other hand, tensions are justifiably very high at the moment. I don't doubt many people are looking for a way to express their anger and frustration with the regime south of the border, beyond boycotting American products.

What I'm hoping for is an announcement asking for polite applause for the Jets' U.S. born players. Make it clear we're not fighting every American, just the roughly 33% of Americans who voted for him (roughly 50% of the 63.9% voter turnout).

I agree. Canada has had a long-standing good relationship with the US and with Americans. We can't let one dim-witted buffoon wreck all that has been built in the past.

I think a more sophisticated way of showing our displeasure with what is going on with the Cheeto's tariffs would be for fans to turn their backs from the flags during the anthem.

Two of our best players are American...we want them to feel welcome here in their 'home' arena.
