Damn, this building is going to look good!

The c-train track encapsulation seemed to take forever, while the current phase of construction seems to have been going at a whirlwind pace. I'm really enjoying the webcams for this (especially now that there isn't much to see for Brookfield or 707 Fifth).

To be honest, those are some of the worst panel joints I've ever seen on a glazing system. I'm worried this facade is going to be another Bow.

Yeah I gotta agree that those panel gaps look pretty sloppy right now. Maybe that's why they started on the ass-end, ha.

The first impression of the cladding doesn't necessarily blow me away (like it did with Brookfield) but hopefully it turns the corner.

Yeah - the panels are amazing and could result in something spectacular, but the examples pictured show unevenness and bowing. They aren't all flush.

Perhaps they are like Ikea drawers, where you can manually adjust the fit after they are installed.

When the style is so different from what we are used to seeing, it's hard to discern how it is suppose to be.

The first time I saw Ryerson's ILC up close, I thought the glazing and panelling looked really cheap.. kind of like a giant bus stop or something. As much as I love the Peace Bridge, I had a similar feeling first time I took a close look there too.

I can't speak to Ryerson, but the Peace Bridge's finishing is very poor. After repairing all the welding defects there wasn't enough money left to polish it up. There was negative money, over 10 million dollars negative. I like that bridge but to this day I can't stand to get within 150 feet of it.

Quality is actually very easy to discern when you know anything at all about materials and their application.

I keep noticing that the mullion caps are missing in several places, so I'm wondering if they have to keep replacing panels or something. Aside from that there are areas where the materials are different sizes, or change shape slightly for no reason.
