I got word that the Arcade Bldg (now called Spring Arcade Plaza) is now open/leasing.

They should fill the hole completely with water and make a park with a lake in the middle. Grass, pathways, trees, benches, a small lake. Wouldn't that be nice?

Virtual Urban: sounds like a plan. Hopefully we see some action on doing something creative with this that leads to the county buildings leaving.

BlueSeattle not bad either, but better to put the lake where the county buildings are. Maybe two ponds connected by a stream is better since it's a hill.

537 S. Broadway looks great. So much unrealized potential on that stretch. But with the momentum we have now, we should see more improvement during the next building boom.

Awesome. I hope this progresses into something viable. I think another building that could be gotten rid of is the dreadful City Hall South. Parker Center site, City Hall South, foundation of the OLD old State Office Bldg.... I think there's a lot for LA City and County to work with.

If the foundation of the Old Old State Building is the one on First and Spring, that should be integrated into the park.

FINALLY. After sitting for hours on a bus with no air conditioning through mostly desert, I'm in LA BITCH!! Culver City to be exact. My father has a DOPE place. It's in a refurbished 1930's hotel (Hotel Van Buren for those who know the area). Right in the middle of Culver City. I mean a BLOCK away from all sorts of activities. Urban living! w00t! Plus I have a good view of Century City. Lovely stuff.

Thank you for the link. I posted my opinion on the message board there that the two County Buildings should be dismantled, consolidated into a new structure.

The Hotel Clark sign has been cleaned. It's hard to tell from this angle, but it looks like the building's facade also got a good scrubbing...

It's an interesting concept, but there are some serious holes. They say the city would have to purchase the site. It's not even for sale, and last I checked the city is flat broke. Unfortunately, like so many other proposals in LA, I'm going to try to forget about this one so I don't get disappointed when it doesn't happen, lol.

Amazing, ambitious proposal. Unfortunately, things that amazing don't typically happen to Los Angeles. Then again, I said the same thing when the Pink Line proposal was just a pipe dream. If a judge next month orders the McCourts to sell the Dodgers, then my signature might actually have some meaning to it. Until then, I shall remain a cautious optimist.
