The roof of Comcast 1 is taller. For a fun illustration, see pic at top of link: http://philaphilia.blogspot.com/ The exact height of both roofs has been posted in the past, though.

The top of the

Comcast Technology Center is taller.

The (impressive) top of the Comcast Center is mechanical equipment.

Comcast Center = 269.9 m
Comcast Technology Center = 303.3 m

This is pretty misleading. The roof of the new tower is 996', it's just much narrower at that point, so it may falsely appear lower (the main roof is).

While technically true, it’s really only how people perceive it that matters. I think most people would say Comcast 1 has a higher roof height.

I’ve always considered the spire to be the roof height because it runs along the entire spine of the building, but yes, technically the roof ends at the HVAC at 303m.

These are amazing photos; absolutely amazing! I wish these photos could be shown on the local news to start the show; people who live in Philly but don't see the beauty of the city need to see it.

as much as I love this building, & that's a lot, I've got to say that the lobby isn't nearly as impressive as the Comcast building. These seem to be reversed, there is a lot more 'technology' going on in Comcast while CTC has.... trees??? Don't get me wrong it's beautiful but doesn't seem to match the theme of the building.

Many times over the years I've walked into Comcast & just watched the show, there won't be any reason to randomly (repeatedly) pop into CTC's lobby however

I guess, although one could technically argue that the roof of the new comcast is 1,121 since you can climb/stand on top of the spire

It's a bit of a stretch, but having seen this thing in person it's pretty dominant all the way to the structural top.

It's not misleading. The cooling towers and mechanical penthouse are not the roof. The roof is 911'6.

You cannot stand on the top of the spire (unless you balance on a beam). The top of the spire is not enclosed; there is no roof at the top of the lantern ('spire').

And 'roof', for purposes of assigning heights, is defined by the organizations that do the measuring, not by some fanciful acrobatics. At any rate, the top of a ladder or flight of stairs is clearly not a roof.

Everyone thinks Comcast 2 is taller than Comcast 1, but it's not. I mean, according to the experts, under certain circumstances, 975 feet is higher than 1121 feet. And 1121 feet is shorter than 975 feet.

I mean from certain angles, in certain pictures, I LOOK taller than my brother, who unfortunately has a long and thin head. I am 5'11 and he is 6'2". So I think I am, really, in a sense, taller than he is. It's the same thing. I mean nobody would argue he is taller than me, would they? On what basis? That he actually is? Smh.

You must be talking about prospective. From any prospective these towers have the same height, the height can't change

You could easily stand up here, but I agree it's not really a real roof. It definitely makes an incredible skyline impact all the way to the top unlike many spires out there though. I also think it's fair to consider the cooling tower a part of the roof though since most buildings have some sort of mechanical element above the occupied area. Just because it's narrower doesn't mean it shouldn't count.
