Updated for 2-21-24. Thanks to gillynova, Urbannizer, and everyone else who posts progress pictures for me to accurately update the diagram.

I think my interpretation of The Travis’ crown was incorrect now that it’s been built up to that point, which is the result of not having too many renderings to look at. I’ll eventually get around to resubmitting a revised drawing. Unfortunately, my new job has kept me busy, so I’ve been unable to add any new diagrams recently.

Endeavor wants to build an office building here with retail. A design competition was held last winter and SOM won the bid.
Tenants have to relocate soon.

Here are some of the ABJ paywall protected details about the 6th & N. Lamar Endeavor project:

"John Kunz, Waterloo’s owner, said he is weighing his options following Endeavor Real Estate Group’s 2019 acquisition of the 600 N. Lamar Blvd. shopping center that the record store has called home since 1989. The 1-acre site at the northwest corner of West Sixth Street and North Lamar Boulevard is coveted as one of downtown's most high-profile spots.

Kunz said Endeavor wants to replace the shopping center eventually and raise a high-rise building, although he said the earliest that might happen is in about three years. In addition to the record store, the site is occupied by Amy’s Ice Cream, 24 Diner and Snap Kitchen, plus Lululemon and Lush Cosmetics.

“They have been great to work with but, at some point, we are going to have to relocate somewhere," Kunz said of Endeavor. “We have always been very central and hope to remain very central."

The relocation could either be permanent or temporary because Kunz said Endeavor is willing to keep Waterloo as a tenant if it chooses to return following the completion of the new tower."

Thanks, I always enjoy these updates. Funny how The Travis and 415 have almost identical timelines.

That's for sure. There are some VERY deep pocketed individuals that live on Baylor Street right behind this site and they are not going to sit still for something more than 60-90' tall.

I know one in particular who is worth ~$100 million who will not like it.

I definitely appreciate the updates - please keep them coming!

It's interesting to me to the Travis appears to be so tall - I guess because of its location and the relatively flat appearance and mono-themed levels - and yet there are five buildings under construction that are even taller. We've definitely come a long way since the 400' plateau days...

Thank you for the updates, bobbywest87! I'm glad to be of some help.

I noticed Paseo is REALLY shooting up. I hope Waterline and The Republic do the same as it's getting skinnier as it gets taller

Some opposition from homeowners but the neighborhood association is in full support:

I'm not surprised given the developer. IIRC, most all of LV Collective's work is student housing, especially in West Campus. I'd imagine they're used to dealing with getting things done quickly and on strict deadlines (e.g., in time for a new semester, etc.).
