What I find really weird about the building in general though.... The alley facing side has way more windows than the Lorne Street side. Anyone know why that is?

It is not just an office building. It is an operations building containing switching equipment, networking infrastructure, servers and such. Hence all the A/C equipment on the roof and the massive back-up power supply building next store.

Couldn't it still have been designed to have the window-heavy side on Lorne though?

Does anyone know what the plan is for this stretch of Parliament in Harbour Landing, in terms of adding turns?Right now it's 500 or 600m with no turns allowed, but the entire north side is being developed for commercial and residential use. So if you make a right-turn into a store (going west), then when you exit you'll have to go west another 400 or 500m and make a u-turn to head back the 600m to Lewvan. It seems really poorly designed. Is it because originally there were no plans to develop the north side?

Does anything think they will rip apart the boulevard and install some turn lanes?

It's already needed. There are 4 apartment buildings already on the north side of the street, and everyone who lives there and wants to go east on Parliament has to initially go west and do a U-turn at Parliament & James Hill. It's awful and needs to be addressed.

It is certainly not in the concept plan and I would not bet on it happening. Parliament is intended to be limited access. What about using 25th? Is it even paved?

Speaking of Parliament in HL, sod has been turned on the new Co-op food store. It looks like Albert and 25th may be closed:

Limited use...except that they are putting anywhere from 200-800 homes on the block + many stores and a grocery store. Sounds like a typical Regina decision.

The Co-op is going east of HL Dr., but you are right that most of the north side of that strip is zoned commercial and the rest is HD (high density residential)

I am not impressed. I will have to look at this building daily as it will be at the end of the block on which I live, besides creating potentially more traffic on my street.

The building must be encroaching on the Wascana pool. The least they could do is fund a completely new pool and facilities (and not require it to be located elsewhere in the park).

My opinion about this Conexus building is that they should have been required to build on the land south of the College Avenue campus, where the sunken parking lot is, and have had underground parking for their employees, visitors as well as students.

Yes, Albert Street store is definitely closing. It has been losing money and the staff hours have been cut back. The staff will move to the new store when completed. Hopefully the new location will bring more customers. With no other grocery stores in HL (other than Walmart) I am sure it will.

Here are some of the renders, credit cbc sask. It's got a university building feel and better than the new coop store.

I believe it is the same architect that did the college building expansion so that should create some cohesion with the other buildings.

I'm more offended than ever with respect to Conexus.

Just so wrong in so many ways. Sure, donate to Darke Hall, but strike a partnership to preserve the park and get a break on land in the core, not on a public amenity.
