Lovely renderings of 2 Queen St W. I'm really excited for this one.

It's good height for the area. I really wish the towers bookending the Eaton Centre were this tall. I truly like those towers, but can't help but wish they were a fair bit taller. Anyways, 2QSW is a welcome addition to the area.

According to the article at Urban Toronto, because this is a mostly office/commercial neighbourhood, few residents turned out to the development meeting and none of them had any issues with the development. The local councillor expressed some concern about the already-crowded sidewalks and the degree to which the proposal exceeds current zoning limits. Hopefully Cadillac Fairview will offset these concerns with some nice monetary contributions to the neighbourhood. There were no shadowing issues with respect to Nathan Phillips Square and the nearby Massey Tower was already approved at 208 metres (though that was partially due to the contribution of land to Massey Hall). The existing heritage building has undergone some renovations that has left much of it in rough shape and hidden under what looks like aluminum siding. All that will come off and the facade will be restored, though the building itself will be gutted. The first two floors will be retail, and above that will be amenity space. This will be a rental building, not a condo, so as soon as approvals come, we could see equipment on site.

Yes sir, it is indeed rental, thankfully! These new renderings, though, certainly give me the impression that this proposal is an office tower as the balconies aren't so obvious.

New renders just released of Calgary's new tallest. Soon to be the tallest office buil in Canada since 1988 (to roof height).

BP was supposed to have been given this month, now there's some kind of utility zoning issue or something that will delay it until next month. That's what I heard in the Calgary section at least

Yeah, it looked a lot like the skin of Chicago's John Hancock Tower. Now that you mention it I do agree these latest renderings look a lot lighter. Still a great addition to the neighbourhood though.

2 queen west looks amazing.

Ramako, a small correction on what is happening to the heritage building. Much like the Earnst & Young tower, the structure will be entirely ripped down and replaced with a replica. This building has a better excuse for this however, as the bricks on the structure were ruined in the previous restoration meaning they cannot stand up to long term weather conditions, as well as the fact that the façade portions behind the aluminium panels are well beyond repair.
