Pinnacle One Yonge | 344.58m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini l u/c

SkyTower podium work is on the right. The large (white) blank wall of the Phase 1 podium is where the Phase 3 tower and podium @ 306 metres-92 storeys (located in the foreground) will connect to the development.

The large brick warehouse in the centre of the photo is the site of Sugar Wharf Phase 2’s on-going demolition and heritage rentention work, which will eventually see 3 towers rise from the retained facades, the tallest tower @ 299 metres.

mburrrrr

Below, Phase 3 is on the left, SkyTower (Phase 2) is on the right and in the centre is the nearly complete Phase 1 tower @ 65 storeys - 217 metres.

UT

Busy SkyTower site.

Was that yesterday? I bet most construction sites were all hands on deck yesterday finishing up work and securing sites for the storm and Christmas Break. It will be about 10 days now that most of our construction sites will be deserted. For YSL it will be like the site is as active as other sites around town until the new year.

Apparently the soonest that the matter may be settled is in a city council meeting in January.

What’s this box cantilevering out of the sixth level?

Not long before we see another set of the angled hangers (supporting all the corners of the tower) above these in the photo.

Centre of the photo while driving to the west. Hard to believe these will look short one day when the three Phase 2 Sugar Wharf towers and SkyTower are built right behind them.

God, Sugar Wharf is just terrible from the ground up, and just as bad up close as it is from afar. All-around embarrassing development for being one of the city's tallest and most prominently situated on the skyline.

160 Front is turning out even better than expected though.

I really Like Sugar Warf. I thought I would hate it but each time I see it I appreciate the patterns. The two towers patterns blend into one pattern depending on where you view them from. The podium looks a little boring though.

I like the podium the most out of Sugar Wharf, and that's only because of it's slightly varied massing which contains more masonry than glass for some spans. The towers are forgettable (in terms of design), basically an inversion of the Harbourfront Condos that Menkes built to the west.

I don't look forward to seeing 3 more buildings with similar massing, and an even more banal design. It'll be a wall of boring, un-interesting facades rising nearly 300M tall.

CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre l Phase 2 u/c

Below, the cantilevered steel surrounding the core… just one of many elements making Phase 2 a much more complicated build than Phase 1 (on a much more challenging site squeezed between the Dominion Building and the rail corridor).

The steel “bare tree” sculpture that sits on the park deck between the 2 Phases.

Isn't it just 2 more? 5 in total with one being the office building.

three more towers.

The podium scale is unappealing. The architectural components aren't bad or am I bothered that they all have been previously used by aA. I appreciate the patterned tower facades. I find them really ugly. That may not be the pattern but, the window wall and/or the colours and shades used.

It's turning out better than I expected and pretty decent overall.

the sugar warf towers just look like two new towers in with temporary balconies in the process of being replaced. I don't like the mish mash unspecific pattern at all.. they would have been far sleeker all in one singular colour imo.

Our friend koops made this spread showing the progress of 150m+ buildings in Toronto. Increased heights on Sky Tower and The One have yet to be finalized.
