As Hank Hill once said, "If it's a father-and-son company, request the father."

Mitzi's definitely has an inflated opinion of their chicken fingers if they think they are going to win any kind of market share in grocery stores against dun-rite, McCains, etc.

they are famous for inventing honey dill, not much else....still a shame they are closing.

Hoffman’s Fine Foods has the best take-home-to-cook chicken fingers in this town, imo, and maybe the best honey dill as well.

I never really understood the Mitzi's hype. Chicken Fingers are good, but the fries sucked.

Maybe it's some sort of similar phenomena to the Jeanne's cake. Huge nostalgic following - but really really terrible product for the uninitiated.

Except the banana marble cake - that one is pretty decent.

^ I agree, Mitzi's was fine but really no more special than any random mall food court restaurant. I guess because it was a standalone building that had been there for some time it built up a following as some quaint local restaurant.

And Rae & Jerry’s. As a millennial, I have zero idea what the appeal is. The food is plain and bland.

gen x has a weird half-ironic fondness for that 60s/70s casino steakhouse retro aesthetic.

I love Joe Beeverz Bar & Grill in Brandon and Yorkton
How I wish Winnipeg would have gotten one, but I think Leopolds have taken over that kind of market. But if anyone is in Brandon I rec Joe Beevs

The D Spot Desserts has opened on Sterling Lyon. They opened
PHP Code:
[PHP
[/PHP]earlier than originally anticipated so they don’t have their full menu just yet. The menu is lengthy. The dessert items focus on ice cream, waffles, pancakes and funnel cake. They have some non-dessert items such as hot dogs and hamburgers. Lots of different hot and cold drinks. I tried the mammoth Hit D Spot and really enjoyed it. The service was prompt and attentive.

If my doctor told me I only had two weeks to live, Jeanne’s cake end pieces would be my breakfast of choice every morning.

^^^I was going to say - obviously you are not having a good steak

A good coating of salt and pepper, medium rare - perfection.
