Curious about this one as well.....haven't seen anything yet......BVic - were you there for the entire meeting? Was this heard (heard = approved) or deferred last minute?

Not at all. I actually took a picture from that same spot a year ago. The difference is incredible.

That project wasn't on the agenda.

I bet that view has been dramatically different every year since 2007

NW and south along the river are places the skyline needs to keep going

and the west loop is reminding me of river north 20 years ago

that said I hope the city keeps its character better than what happened in river north

I don't think that's true across the board. Certainly there have been a series of well-designed buildings in the West Loop in the past year or two, but there have been plenty of blah buildings, too, and because of the NIMBY height restrictions they're less noticeable. I don't think that was part of their thinking as NIMBYs, but it's a silver lining sort of side-effect.

I believe the Eagles are from the old bank building that was here before the surface lot and new bank.

Those floors are Ken Griffins condo. They were added to the project after construction started.

^^ It's like looking at eye candy. I really am digging the new curb bump outs. Hope that there's more like this across the city
