I love the combination of the canal and the new buildings. The canal could become a great focal point for the neighbourhood. Too bad there's already some botched development nearby.

Thanks for the update DJ! It looks fantastic so far... I feel as though KW gives Dartmouth a new identity, almost similar to the impact of Purdy's for Halifax.

Depending on the signature tower and the other proposals for Dartmouth, there could be a serious skyline rivalry here.

Factoring in what's going on in Bedford as well, HRM will be much improved.

The skyline is one thing but I hope this actually ties in to the rest of the downtown area. Hopefully there will be good pedestrian connections across the highway-like Alderney Drive and railway tracks.

Ideally there will be some future interesting/useful development along King Street with new retail and more offerings on Portland Street to give the new residents of King's Wharf a reason to visit the rest of the neighbourhood.

I think there were plans for a small grocery store in this development. Hopefully it's a decent one that people can use for most of their day-to-day shopping. That would be a huge asset to the area. Living within a couple blocks' walk of a grocery store is great, as is the short ferry commute to the downtown.

It's just over half of its current height right now.

There is a patch of ground that they have seeded with grass. Looks somewhat odd within the construction site. I wonder if they are testing grasses for the roof of the podium of the main tower?

Actually from the angle of that photo the iconic tower would block out the rest of DD.

And don't worry much about skyline competition Bedford is going to sneak up and steal the spotlight in a decade of so.
