There might be a few of us meeting to go to the open house... in case anyone else is interested in going.

thanks for the pics zivan65.

this looks like crap. reminds of an Expo 86' leftover or something. it would have been much nicer and softer if they used wood (or elements of). they could have sliced it in half too. seems rather large and obtrusive.

^ good eye. here's a screenshot

i have no freakin' clue. that's so bizarre. maybe it's temporary? or it's some sort of art component kinda like how there's random art on the roof of the art gallery ?

Looks very 80s, though unlike most shit from the 80s, it isn't beige, nor will it likely turn beige with age.

Yep...I took it through an insanely high chain linked fence (it was around 3-4m I think), so I tried my best to blend the link into the tree.

I don't think the welcome thing looks too bad...it kind of fits in with the look of Canada Place. However, I agree it isn't really fitting in with the rest of the city.

If you check out the webcam now you can see it ain't no ordinary streetlight. I don't really have a clue what it will look like or be able to do when installation is finished though. I'm quite curious now.

Great. It looks even more retarded now. They should have just stuck the upside down church up there if they wanted public art. And for "public" art it's not very public, considering that the average person can only see it from an overhead webcam. Ah I guess I should just stfu until it's finished.

^ well, actually if you zoom out it's quite visible from street level. The art is located on the south side of the facility, placed where the roof dips down and becomes flat - and that also happens to be the main entrance.
