Certainly not renters. According to a 2023 report, only 13% of tenants have central AC in Toronto. Many more of course have window units, etc. but those generally aren't ideal and have varying levels of effectiveness. I've lived through many hot summers in sticky, sweaty apartments and it's definitely not fun.

Now a hot, sticky summer by the lake or in a place with central AC isn't so bad.

While not quite beach weather, the temperatures have been decent enough (just about perfect, IMO). But it's also been overcast a fair bit so just doesn't "feel" like summer. May was lovely though.

35C with a humidex of 44 and sunny. Crazy hot and humid.

This is actually our 2nd earlier 35C ever (35.6C officially). Just shows how ridiculous that May 2020 was. Almost a month earlier than anything else and a full degree warmer. But one of the reason why the May 2020 temperature was made possible was the lack of humidity. The lower dewpoint allowed the temperatures to spike more easily.

Low of 26C (humidex of 33) this morning. Scorcher.

The warmspot was Toronto Downtown, ON at 36.5C.

Warmest low was Montreal and Nicolet, QC at 25.9C. Would be the yearly high if it holds. I doubt it does but we will see. Sainte-Clotilde, south of Montreal had a preliminary low of 27.0C this morning but they have "cooled" down to 25C.

Wiarton's low did not hold and they ended with a sub 20C one.

Ottawa recorded a dewpoint of 27.0C this evening. Highest of the year countrywide. There were showers close by which might have explained this spike.

Three days in Ottawa and just like last year, I'm glad I packed enough extra clothes so I didn't have to put on sweat drenched clothes again or hand wash them.

Why is it that this is the first time I'm seeing this species of goose? Is it new? I think I just discovered a new species because I've never seen a photo of this before. Like, Ottawa is not that far from the GTA and Central Ontario, yet I've never seen this thing before.

As for the metal grate bridge, is it sketchy driving on when snowing?

Second time in two and a half weeks finding abandoned goose eggs. This time in Alexandria to go along with Oakville before. Never before have I seen this yet it happened twice recently. Just like last year when I never had road kill but then hit a red squirrel and three weeks later had walking kill when a chipmunk ran right under my foot while I was walking back from the barbecue with a plate of burgers.

I also was fishing under the Vimy bridge and saw a dead raccoon. Then walked a few more feet and found another. Never seen two dead animals that close to each other.

Before I left, the mulberries in my backyard were all green. I came back some some have colour. I'm pretty sure they are well late this year. I guess due to the crappy spring.

25C (humidex 29) in Moncton at only 8 AM. Sunny and sticky.

High temperature yesterday was 34C (humidex 43), beating predictions. There was a brief but vigorous thunderstorm in the evening, but it didn't really cool things off. Thank God for my heat pump system!

Interesting. Perhaps it's the morning lows that factor in my feeling that it's been a cool June (the weekend of June 11th notwithstanding). I felt legitimately chilly in the mornings this month. Spending the first week of June in obscenely hot Taiwan probably contributed to it feeling colder than normal in Vancouver.

Yeah it felt a little weird. I’ve been on it a couple times before. The only other metal bridges I recall being on were much shorter. One would be by the Toronto zoo crossing the Rouge River but it’s a little different and seems to have more grip but then again you’re driving slower on it.

29C with a humidex of 31 and sunny. Wind switched from southwest to north. As a result the dewpoint dropped from 22C last night to 5C this evening. This is actually dry for late June. Still a beautiful day.

Low of 22C (humidex of 28) this morning.

The warmspot was Shelburne Point, NS at 32.8C.

Warmest low was Toronto Downtown, ON at 23.8C.

Downtown Montreal ended up with the highest official low at 24.9C yesterday. Not enough to dethrone Hamilton for the yearly warmest low title.

Meteorological sanity has returned to Moncton.

Currently 15C in the city and sunny at 9 AM, going up to a pleasant 21C this afternoon.

Coming off four consecutive days of 30C+ , today is cloudy and cooler. Highs of only 20-21C.

Humidity returns tomorrow with highs approaching 30C, feeling closer to 40C.
