Regina is still coming down from a construction boom that included the tallest office tower in the province. A breather to let the market catch up is understandable. There won’t be demand for new Class A space for a while. (By the way, they ain’t building any new office towers in Calgary for a while either)

Well to be fair, Regina had a construction boom 5-10 years ago while the rest of the country sat stagnant...it's the result of our economy being detached from the rest, to a degree.

I'd be shocked if any new office or hotel towers come forward in the next 5 years. I could see a new condo project, but it's far from certain.

The city and province are broke too. It's going to be a quiet next few years.

Totally not the case during the boom SIX towers where built , a major new stadium which is getting rave reviews , A TWO Billion dollar Regina bypass, the renewal of the rail yards are underway multiple new subdivisions , new Industrail parks where have you been and where do you post, don't worry something new will come along

I'd love to see some pictures of what was built during the boom.. The only thing that comes to mind as of recent is the new stadium and I think one office tower. Haven't been to Saskatchewan yet so any locals please post more pics!! For such a small city, I think Regina's got potential.

Yes that is part of the 3 phase City renewal project, but has nothing to do with the railyard renewal.

Phase 1 - build new Mosaic Stadium
Phase 2 - redevelop railyards
Phase 3 - demo and redevelop Taylor Field

It seems they are no longer following the project in order.

Those conceptual pictures were drawn August 2016 and released to public May 2017.

I am not aware of any other work being done on the railyard renewal.

I'm sure they'll start work in the next decade or two. Right after the decade wait to build on the old stadium.

Does anyone know the cost of demolition and clean up for Taylor Field? I haven't come across it, and am confused where the budget dollars came for this, given it wasn't supposed to happen for several years.

In that same vein, also curious about where the budget dollars came to purchase and renovate the STC building for RPS at a total estimated cost of over $30 million.
