That is great! Love that! I thought when they first built the first tower that they were going to do that. Only took 16 years.

Looking at recent real estate transactions, I see two recently closed sales at The Laurel for ~$1,700/sq. ft. and ~$1,900/sq. ft.

I believe those are well over previous city records; hopefully it bodes well for current/future high-rise condo proposals in the city.

What high-rise/s (if any) do people think will break ground this year?

My money is on Pearl's Jeweler's Row tower.

I'm just hoping for all the center city holes: Jewelers Row, 19th St/Harper Square, the PHA Chestnut St project.

Less hopeful, but I'd also like the Wendy's and hotel hole by Jefferson to get something soon, even if they downsize

There are just a LOT of stalled holes in Center City right now in a few clusters which is an unfortunate look

I'm not sure we're gonna see any of that until interest rates come down. And the likelihood of that is questionable with the incoming administration.

Is Pearl's project in Rittenhouse, the 600+ footer stalled? Looks like that thread hasn't been updated in months. It would be nice to see that one get vertical in 2025.

Visit Philly listed the AC Marriott at 13th and Florist as opening in 2025? Surely this is a mistake right? I thought that was totally dead.

I don't think there's a realistic way for it to actually be 1,090. That's a whole 145 feet higher than it offically is a 945, which would be significantly noticeable. Also, it would be noticeably taller than the Comcast Center, which it isn't, although it looks that way from the Sports Complex, that's because it's closer. I have no idea why that's listed as the height on the website. Taller than 945, perhaps.
The fact that an observation deck is being added to the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh certainly means that someone should step in and reopen One Liberty Observation Deck. This is also why 3101 Market and the Transit Terminal Tower should have observation decks open to the public on their top floors as part of their construction.

I've been walked past the site a ton and there's been no movement, still just a pile of bricks.

I have a personal connection who told me that they are going to start the CITC light conversion somewhat soon. No official timeframe

USS John F. Kennedy with the Philadelphia skyline by Philly SkyGuy, on Flickr
We're now down to one large historical ship in the city. Ooooooh it's gonna be incredibly sad seeing the SS United States towed on the same path.
