^Yes, but they haven't filed anything for demolition yet. Dominoes probably wants to wait for as long as possible. They probably won't demolish until they're pretty much ready for construction.

With last week (or week before) Atlanta Business Chronicle reporting the sale price of that now Domino's land, the larger next door medical building and also the contiguous small apartment building on Peachtree Place to square off - or "rectangular-ing" off - that footprint…..YES - Dominos will at some point vacate

Is blasting still going on at Opus?

I know they said it wouldn't start to rise until another year or so.

Another Hotel to Break Ground Soon - 524 West Peachtree (Downtown)

ATLANTA — Arriba Capital has provided a $40.7 million construction loan for the development of a 194-room, dual-branded Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites and Towneplace Suites in Midtown Atlanta. The two-year, non-recourse loan features three six-month extension options for the borrower, a privately held hospitality management and development company. The seven-story hotel will be located atop a 220-space, five-story parking deck. Hotel amenities will include a market pantry, meeting space, fitness center and business center. The two hotels will share a common front-of-house area, including registration and a breakfast area. The property is located across the street from Emory University Hospital and within walking distance to attractions including the World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, Fox Theatre, College Football Hall of Fame and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The project is slated for completion in May 2020.

Looks like it repurposes that historic building there fairly well. And some activity happening in SoNo is great. Finally some more connections between Midtown and Downtown.

Can anyone explain how a five level parking deck will be incorporated into this existing 4-level building?

There's movement already on the Georgia Power site on the Beltline eastside trail (721 N Angiers). Two planning permits were filed today:
-Rezone the 10 acre site to MRC3-C
-Zoning review (SUP) for a hotel on the site.

They've already paid $6400 in fees.

Midtown DRC Agenda: March 13, 2018

NEW APPLICATION: Adaptive Reuse for Residential (The Peach -1655 Peachtree St.)

Quote:
Renovation of an existing 12 story building, originally constructed in the 1960s, comprised of 3 stories of parking plus 9 stories of residential. The existing parking deck holds approximately 90 spaces and is planned to remain with minor aesthetic and lighting upgrades. The existing building has 75 residential units installed approximately 10 years ago but never occupied. This renovation will demolish the existing residential units to construct
approximately 107 new residential units. Exterior repairs will include new roof and repairs to the envelope including painting. Exterior renovation will include development of terrace level amenity spaces at the 4th level (top of parking deck), front “yard” renovation with water feature, paths and decking, misc. front elevation improvements, and the addition of screening for the parking deck along Peachtree. Smith Dalia are the architects of record.
Smith Dalia is the architect.

I guess Metlife won't be presenting this month after all.

The garage has gotten much better than the last round of renderings they released, but I'm still curious about the design of the 13th street side.

Really glad to see the renovation of The Peach in the works. There’s something psychological about having this building and the Medical Arts building in disrepair in such prominent locations from the highway that implies an aura of dumpiness to the city. Hope they both get cleaned up soon.

because of course they should keep that parking deck. (that's the part that looks so damn dumpy!)

22 Airline Street | Old Fourth Ward, Atlanta

In partnership with Historic District Development Corporation (HDDC), Capital City Real Estate (CCRE) plans to develop 29 residences with modern interiors and an industrial exterior that compliments the historic industrial look of the booming Old Fourth Ward (O4W) neighborhood. With Krog Street Market and the Beltline just blocks away as well as the numerous other shops and restaurants coming to the O4W, 22 Airline is in the heart of a truly walkable neighborhood while in close proximity and easy access to downtown Atlanta. As with every CCRE project, intentionality in the design of the project and units elevates the living experience through functionality, quality and creative spaces. Come experience the O4W neighborhood like never before. Delivery planned for summer of 2019.

Year Completed: 2019

Is this actually getting built or is it just a proposal? It looks great.
