Just a thought...

AMAZON should not see Atlanta a as a place to avoid as much as an opportunity to effect lasting change through its own positive influence.

If AMAZON is as wise and socially astute as they believe they are, then shying away from a place because of the current political climate is like agreeing to lose the battle. If they are who they say they are, and if they really are this force of social change then they should locate right in the middle of a place they say would benefit most from their influence. Settling in a place that is a basically a duplicate of Seattle is missing a chance to effect real and lasting change in a region they say may need it the most.

To be a force of social change you actually have to confront it first, not by force, but by becoming part of the community, part of the social fabric. Without communication and interaction in meaningful ways with those you wish to develop a mutual respect and acceptance with, then you just remain as disparate groups of people, outsiders to each other.

The truth is that if AMAZON located in the Atlanta area, which is well known at the “capital” of the Southeastern United States, then it would have the most influence on the people in a region it says it wants to reach out to the most. Changing minds, changing hearts, one at a time.

It’s also seems unfortunate and unwise for groups to “Blacklist” a region or city to effect change, this only appears to alienate everyone.

I believe this is the real truth, with maybe one backup if there is a significant difference in tax breaks, etc between who they targeted originally.

I feel ATL is probably in that group, but may only be the backup if they can't get what they want.

Had to filter this one a bit to get everything to show up:

1105 west Peachtree, Opus, and 1125 Peachtree would all have huge impacts on the skyline. Really hoping to see a few more go up just north of 10th street, too.

I hope something comes out about 1125 soon. Someone told me an office anchor was found. They sounded excited about it.

An anchor for 1105 west Peachtree or 1125 Peachtree? Asking for clarification to potentially avoid another code brown for Atlanta3000...

While either would be great, I may go ecstatic if both 1105 and 1125 break ground and go up at the same time.

This person seemed pretty confident that both will break ground this year. And the anchor comment was about 1125.

This SPI- 16 (Subarea 3 'Juniper East') zoned C-4 site, features 350' of frontage, incorporating most of the block fronting Juniper between 5th and 6th Streets. Based on current zoning David Goodman, AIA with Cooper Carry Architects proposes a project with 245 residential units, 10,000 square feet of lobby/leasing/retail, 3 townhomes, and 475 parking spaces. The land is currently improved with two office buildings consisting of 20,983 square feet and 6,300 square feet, providing potential income opportunity until developed.

131 Ponce de Leon
https://www.bullrealty.com/properties/view/193586
Bull Realty is pleased to present the opportunity to acquire a prime 2.5-acre assemblage approved for 1.4 million square feet of mixed-use or commercial development in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia. Bounded by four well-known streets—Ponce de Leon Avenue, Piedmont Avenue, North Avenue, and Juniper Street—the property comprises nearly an entire city block with unmatched visibility located in the heart of Midtown.

The SPI-16 zoning allows versatile uses including office, retail, medical, hotel, multifamily, assisted living, or student housing. The Midtown area, convenient to Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, and Emory University, is popular for both business uses and residential living. Three existing buildings totaling in excess of 75,000 square feet produce modest income from short-term leases that can help to defray holding costs.

^ All that looks amazing! Love that Buckhead proposal. I saw Game Night last night (really hilarious) and there are some great shots of the Atlanta skyline in it.

Summerhill renderings look outstanding.

Isn’t 811 Juniper the same as Broadstone recently completed at that site? Or maybe I’m off at my location...

Sure hat news about 1125 Peachtree is enough to give a man a heart attack from excitement. Here’s hoping the tower is tall, bold, and has a fantastic street presence!

He also said their unspoken goal is to overshadow Opus, and apparently the renderings do just that. I'm gonna see if I can snag a peek.

On Selig's website they indicate 1125 Peachtree Street is a mix of 300 apartments and 160 condos. However from what you said the project now has a office component. Is that correct?

Listen Sura - you have a clear mission HERE. Get you hands on the plans for the building and use any means necessary. I am sure the folks on here will start a GOFUNDME to cover any legal or medical expenses. Let me know if you need any tools to break into cars, door locks or hack into a mainframe because I have a "friend" that can provide assistance.

Make it happen!
