I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by the interest in it.
Thanks.
I thought "The Harwood" was the Bing Thom project with the giant tree next door.

As far as I know that project doesn't have a marketing name yet. I'll have to catch up on creating a bunch of threads for the next wave of projects.

No the tree is a goner, they could not secure an arrangement with the neighbouring property which contains a sizable amount of the trees root. They will however plant a new tree.

Anyone know if there will be any exterior upgrades? The heinous orange has to go.

^ Remove the colour and you'd have the proposed Telus office building.

I like that.

Can I also be one of the few that likes the colours at Spectrum?

Coopers landing is way better... spectrum is just window wall and cheap versions of Toronto's combovers...

I could see that on the Bay Parkade site (limited to about 300 ft?).

Spectrum just has colour as an afterthought - in the solid spaces afer they had designed the building. Cooper's Landing (the orange one) isn't much different.

The buildings pictured above integrate the colour far more into the building facades.

Babylon would be gone - I would miss it too. Even just walking home past that smell... mmmmm.

The robson one is the one going.

Anyways I'm sure babylon will find a location nearby, even if its a hole in the wall so to say.

(I miss when they had the bigger store on robson with the plates, was very good!

Interesting development going to the DPD on May 2nd, 2011, at least it's using up Heritage density.

Quote:
778 Jervis Street DE414347 Austeville Properties
Conversion of Ground floor amenity to Retail Use.
Conversion of five (5) dwelling units to residential storage use on the 2nd floor.
Deletion of in-suite residential storage on all floors (except 3 units on third floor plan). 10% Heritage Density Transfer from 53 West Hastings.

This one explains why the leases weren't renewed for existing tenants. I'd imagine this property will be sold by the PEF once this is over.
Quote:
900 Pacific Street DE414522 DYS Architecture

The existing Kettle of Fish will have portions of both the upper and lower floors renovated to accommodate the program requirements for the "Directions Youth Centre" which is currently located at 1134 Burrard Street. This is a temporary occupancy of 3 years while their building is under construction.
April 18, 2011

This one should be of interest to a few members and a couple of the neighbourhood committee groups.

Quote:
50 Pacific Boulevard DE409317 Walter Francl Architects

To move and place 2 temporary presentation centres on this existing vacant site with associated surface parking and new access from Pacific Boulevard on Carral Street ROW with 60 associated surface parking spaces and one loading space for a limited period of time of three years from the date of Occupancy, or required development of Creekside Park, whichever comes first. The permit may be extended by the Director of Planning or the Development Permit Board.
