Oh yes, he was so exciting to watch. Too bad he let fame get to his head, and he became a bust in the NFL.

Vague innuendo by a former Baylor female athlete is quite a stretch to defend A&M’s officially documented history of shameful cheating. But hey, whatever makes those delusional aggies on TexAgs feel better about themselves.
Here’s some entertaining fodder to chew on though…

Anyway, back to UT campus news - hope I live long enough to see the completion of this project:

https://news.utexas.edu/2024/10/04/ut-tower-to-undergo-historic-restoration-beginning-this-fall/

I have not been up on the Tower observation deck since early July, 1966.
It obviously has undergone considerable aging since then.

I went up there in 2014 - you could still see bullet holes from the shooting.

I was a block east of Littlefield Fountain couching behind a car watching that tragedy unfold.
It sounded like a Vietnam firefight when students & LEOs started shooting back at Whitman.

I wonder if they're going to do anything spectacular on the giant blank wall of the swimming and diving center. At least it's brick and not just concrete. And I suppose it's just overlooking a practice field, albeit an expensive one. And I suppose I'm just expecting too much these days. And so on.

^^^ aside from a few superficial renderings/concepts, we really do not know much...

^^^ does anyone have any information as to what this MONUMENTAL and LONG ANTICIPATED project is costing? aside from a few superficial renderings/concepts, we really do not know very much about what is happening with this project, as well as what shall be included, interior-wise. TEXAS very often harbors a very strange and unique INCOGNITO effect whenever they are constructing its athletic facilities. heck, I'm really surprised that they haven't yet installed the on-site construction camera that CDC has been promising here. why on earth do they continue to shroud their HIGH-PROFILE construction projects in this strange and non-transparent secrecy...?

Had tried to forget about this. I got dragged to a UT basketball game in January and noticed across the street from the Moody Center, the Social Work building boarded up for demo prep (if you're an old fart like me, you know it was formerly University Jr High (the first integrated jr high school in Austin).

It's just plainly unnecessary to replace the bubble and the practice fields on old Red River.

I respect your opinion. However, times have changed dramatically. And for many, this is necessary.

Like it or not, college sports are now professional sports. They are drivers of hundred of millions of dollars and the front door to Universities. It's a messed up system - but, we cannot put the toothpaste back in its tube.
