Longhorn Pride

As an alumni and graduate 1991 I am so very proud of my Texas Longhorn football team.

I too am proud of the Longhorn football team, and am an alumnus of UT.
First stepped foot on campus in 1962.

Nobody expected the Horns to make such an impact their first year in the SEC.

Not too hard when you are handed the easiest SEC conference schedule in the history of the conference.

It isn’t UT’s fault for scheduling A&M.

Can you link to any SOS ranking that puts UT at the bottom of the SEC?

Looks like the Horns were in the middle of the SEC:

https://collegefootballnetwork.com/sec-strength-of-schedule-conference-comparison/

Not too shabby for their first year effort, not to mention playing for the conference championship and going 2-1 in the national playoffs.
And that’s just a couple of years after going thru the worst decade+ in Texas Longhorn history.

All season the fans of OU, Aggy, Arkansas calling UT's schedule soft.... because they were on UT's schedule. Typical.

Proud of the Horns this season, fun first year in the SEC. Arch-mania the next couple years in this city could be pretty wild. Exciting times, hook'em

And for the Aggies lurking around here - some food for their thoughts:

Texas has played in 2 conference championship games and 4 CFP games in the last 2 seasons.

A&M last played in a conference championship game 26 seasons ago
.and Franklin Roosevelt was president the last time they played for a national championship.

Thanks for the history lesson. Yes the Longhors have done well this past two years. But the 12 years before that all we heard was history lessons because at that present time you stunk and that was all you had to gloat on.

So this year some of the teams that were predicted to finish low on your schedule did not, i.e. Vandy. Looking at some of the very early predictions for next year, for 8 games, Texas plays 2 teams in the top 8/half of the conference predictions and 6 of the bottom teams, very similar to this past season. Whoever made this 2 year schedule for you should get a nice large gift card to Chuys or Franklin BBQ as they set you all up well. Don't say the schedule isn't easy as all the national pundits say the same thing. Poor OU with that opposite schedule again next year.

Now on to talking about title of this thread and your stadium with the uterus in the end zone ..........

t.u. went 5-7 under head coach sark in his first season. A&M... went 8-5 under Elko in his first season....this season. Stats are looking real good for A&M going forward with a potential #1 or #2 recruiting class for '26. Aggies just getting started under Elko, sark probably has hit the top of his career at t.u.

Texas had the nation's top rated recruiting class for 2025. The College Station Aggies had #8.

Because of the present time in the past? Is this the kind of sentence composition they teach in College Station?

Why did you only pick a 12 year span? Is it because UT played for a natty in 2010 and won a natty in 2006? All the while the Aggies were going 8-4?

Yes, we all know from 2010-2021 was the absolutely worst span in Longhorn football history, but UT still won a few marquee games - such as manhandling Georgia in the Sugar Bowl five years ago under a coach who got fired.
Longhorn fans are in no way delusional about that fugly decade+.

As long as we are nitpicking the calendar, Texas is 10-3 against A&M since 2000.
Not to mention the Horns have an all-time winning record of 22-17 in College Station.

Of course everyone knows A&M totally dominated Texas in the 1980s & early ‘90s, but their blatant cheating landed them in the top ten most sanctioned NCAA list and resulted in TV & Bowl bans.
Luckily they didn’t get the Death Penalty even though the Aggies deserved it because the NCAA saw what that did for the SMU program. Tsk-tsk.

But we should give A&M credit for being so rich they can afford to pay a coach $9,000,000 a year to not coach their football team, and instead watch him throwing the Horns-up sign while roaming the Texas sideline during the Peach Bowl.

Hey bud you may need your eyes checked. I guess it is all that craziness they teach in Austin made your eyes go wild :-)

Ok, OK, but please do not say that your beloved Texas never cheated also. Just because you where not caught does not mean it did not happen. go back and check the quote from your one quarterbacks girlfriend/wife when she referred to what they got from Texas when they were playing for them. It was amazing how quickly it disappeared afterward from the press releases with a media dominated by Longhorns in Texas.
