Brandt was Sask's first privately-owned $1B company but did I read correctly that they want to grow to become a $5B company? If so I would imagine that will create more jobs here in the province

I relocated Kevin and Karen Reese yesterday(both of Karina Developments Ltd.)

An extremely nice power-couple on our local scene.

Great conversations in a short days work.

I informed him I am a member of this forum and inquired of the future...

I asked Kevin if he had anything 'new' to report on Regina and Area construction
and he Discussed the current and future phases of their(Karina's Dev Ltd.) projects.

According to him there is no 'inside scoop' I could report here atm.

I invited him to browse the site, now aware that this website exists.

Nothing new @ Karina for now.

The problem with this is Brad Wall has been trying to get head offices to relocate to Saskatchewan for years with little success. There are not a lot of major companies looking to move to small provinces and small cities so I doubt much will come of this. It's also ironic that he claims to want to bring head offices here but at the same time he wants to sell off one of the biggest head offices we have in Sasktel. Just doesn't make sense. Maybe I will be proven wrong.

He announced a month ago that they had received unsolicited interest in Sasktel, but after consulting the people, it is not for sale.

I think he said they haven't received any interest/offers... But after consulting the poeple, he wouldn't be interested in full privatization anyways, though he still leaves the door open to partial privatization up to 49% (which I'm sure would get the same reaction from people if they put it to a referendum).

Maybe just present it in a more human way. It's easier to just say "I ran into John Smith the other day, and when I asked him about Space-X's plan's for Mars mining, he said he was already aware of the initiative."

The way you laid those two things out made it seem like you were someone peddling something. Also, just as an FYI, relocate means to move someone somewhere new. I think you meant to use "locate."

Ashlar, thanks for contributing. I expect "relocate" is a literal translation from another language, since you use it in 2 posts. We would use "I ran into" or "I button-holed" as colloquial phrases. These would translate really poorly by the way. A simple formal term would be "I encountered". Cheers

Pappcam,Stormer and Festivus... for the rest of us.

I AM a mover.

When I say "relocate" I mean>>> relocate.

I deal with a lot of the construction executives in this great city we live in.

This is NOT an advertisement: I love Regina.

I plan to contribute to this forum ladies and gents.

Please allow me to speak how I "ACTUALLY" speak.

In fact this year marks my 30th anniversary of relocating the Citizens of our city

When I say "I work for You" it is a high probability that you may have encountered me in your life.

I hear 'news' before a lot of people because I actually take the effort to personally inquire about our future...directly from the horse's mouth.

Stormer, one can assume many things from a post and also infer others.

You name a person of note in this locale and I was there in discussion.

I hope my vocation doesn't earn your disgust when I am privy to things on location discussed and will earn my stripes as concerns mistrust.

As I stated when I joined.

I was unaware this forum existed and am glad it found me.

Right, because the Sask party has never in the past considered privatizing crowns and other Saskatchewan assets. The only reason it came up is because of some mysterious unsolicited interest.

But either way, his attempt to claim he wants to bring head offices to Saskatchewan is contradicted by his consideration of selling Sasktel, solicited or unsolicited. If he truly wants head offices here he would have turned any interest down flat. He knows what a majority of the province thinks about that he didn't need to go through all that theatrics to get to the same conclusion he knew would come from the people of the province.

My guess is that they feel like they've slowly got Saskatchewan to accept more and more privatization (ISC and liquor stores), and they were hoping to/thinking they could push it a little further. But in the end they wound up with some pretty heavy opposition.

Hello again Nathan, that rings a bell and rather resounds to my experience of the ongoings in province and have noted over a decadal timespan an underlying stream of pavlovian slobberitus as my friend calls it.

By this I mean there seems to be an entraining of the populace to, at some point in time, accept selling our crown jewels.

Not on my watch.

I have discussed this with many of the exact people that are in the positions to answer your inquiries.

I am apolitical and a capitalist.

I recognise this as the Capital List of reasons that when I interact in my work I dissuade privatization because when I buy my beer around here...I want my cash to STAY around here.

Even if the Gov't has to sell it...(booze/insurance/telephony etc.) it is not abhorrent to my opinion.

It would also be beneficial in certain aspects if the gov't of sask gets in on the pot-game too!

That Money needs to STAY HERE.

@t Sask-tell communications when I communicate with their directors on down to the linesmen and fibre-optical installers etc I let them know we are watching and will have none of it.
