They likely do for the food court at least.

There was once a DQ on 18 block Scarth.

Does DQ in the food court sell food or just ice cream?

FCL is purchasing land for a 1.5 to 2.0 billion dollar diesel plant. That's some major major dollars.

Pretty sure it's a DQ/Orange Julius so it's just ice cream, Julius drinks and hot dogs.

The schematic shows an auxiliary structure attached to the building - basically an overhang over top of the first lane and a portion of the second lane. Probably like how drive-thru pharmacies do their second lanes in USA [or Rexall, in Regina]. There is a box that can be transported up and over the inside lane with the order and with a debit terminal etc. I'll be curious to see how that works with a bunch of beverages.

The dollar store was called 'A Buck or Two'.

I think they have a few other food items, but it is very limited. I go to the food court several times a week, and to be honest, I don't think they even sell very many hotdogs...New York Fries seems to sell more 'dogs than DQ/OJ. I oftentimes wonder how long DQ/OJ is going to remain there, as they are one of the least busiest outlets in the food court.

The city really is intent on giving away land for under market prices. Viterra is paying approximately $6,300 per acre and FCL is paying just under $10,000 acre. Given that FCL is paying less than half of market value, we're really giving Viterra a steal.

Now I know that some of you boosters are going to say that we should be supporting development. But screw that, I say giant corporations should pay the market price.

Pasqua Hospital

Does anyone know what's being built on the northwest side of the Pasqua hospital? It looks powerplantish, or something for big vehicles.

You nailed it. It's a power plant. They just wrapped up a brand new one at the General, now it's the Pasqua's turn.

While we are in complete agreement, I think it's unfortunately become "standard" for municipalities to provide some kind of incentive to these large corporations. But if it's a one-time discount on the purchase of the land vs. years and years of tax breaks, I'll take the former. At least we're not being handcuffed by a sports team to pay for a new stadium... oh wait.

Yup. We shouldn't be subsidizing fossil fuels at all. I'd like my children to have a future.

Umm... it is not fossil fuels. It is biofuels.

Also, as far as I am aware, there are no significant fossil fuel subsidies in Saskatchewan, other than perhaps green subsidies to reduce emissions, such as the Boundary Dam CCS project. On the contrary, oil production and marketing provides significant tax and royalty revenue used to subsidize other industries, including green energy.

The forum needs a "Like" button. I've mentioned before that this place is mostly a weird mix of anti-everythings who complain about everything.

I find it funny that they advertise "10 minutes to the airport" like the Regina International is a major hub.

I guess when your condo development is aimed at people who have a decent chance of being snowbirds, things like that matter.
