In all seriousness, except for his children, does he actually have any political advisors in the traditional sense? I am not at all sure.

He is the definition of an egotistical dictator. It's his way or nothing. I can't see him listening to his kids, and even if he did they're probably assholes like he is (Eric and Donald Junior anyways).

From what little I've seen of them, the kids seem to be in an entirely different league from their father. Perhaps narcissism is not something you inherit.

I find his kids very much just Trump. Ivanka is the exception. She's more like her mother.

I recently came across this aerial photo of the interchange. It shows the area well, although sizes and distances are quite distorted.

This is the redevelopment plan: https://www.halifax.ca/property/CogswellInterchange.php

Many of the buildings next to the interchange are also up there on the ugliness scale, like the one with the BDC logo.

This heritage district fail in Bonavista. This is a town where even chain stores have heritage-style buildings. No idea how this made it through.

But it is cute... all NL in one photo. Abandoned, beautiful heritage, hideous modernity, and Jesus.

Also Medi-Plus? I can't say that without adopting a French accent. Is it a Quebec chain?

I didn't understand why that interchange was posted based on the original photos. With this aerial I fully understand. It completely chops off the waterfront from the rest of DT and those buildings too. In spite of Calgary being very car dependent they were wise not to have built a highway along the Bow river by DT.

Edit: what a fantastic proposal to transform that ugly freeway!

Why did they decide at some point in time (in Calgary too btw) to cover over heritage buildings with fucking metal siding?!? Or is that a new building?

cheaper to cover than to repair. we haven't seen the light either. heritage buildings here are being covered with stucco (DEFS) now.

Lots of places seem to use that name, but it does not appear to be trademarked as a chain.

In many cases they also build these uglies to replace older buildings destroyed by fire.

Looks like something I designed in Cities:Skylines, but to my credit, I don't know WTF I am doing.

In the same way that Wall Street traders reduce sweatshops and environmental degradation down to upticks on a stock, roads departments and planners sacrifice everything about urban environments to minimize travel time of vehicles.

^hell that's all that matters to some folks. Some aggregate number on the rise; never mind what lies behind it.
