-Expanded saputo
-Rogers centre and (or) BMO (russia and qatar both using multiple venues in 1 city)
-BC place
-CWS
-THF
-TD place
-NMS
-New or refurbished Calgary stadium
-Possible a new stadium in Quebec city or Halifax
As it stands today with out a single stadium built (post mosiac) we would have the stadiums and cities necessary to host a world cup. The big O needs 200-300M. In repairs regardless of the world cup or not. To build a 70,000 seat "NFL" stadium for a month long soccer tournament would be a very unnecessary use of tax payer dollars. We could upgrade every stadium in this country and build a new one in Halifax and quebec for the same price.

I agree with your list of stadiums for a potential World Cup in Canada, We already have the stadiums,& with the needed upgrades Canadian Soccer Association president Victor Montagliani has already said so, he also said though in an interview last December Montreal “needs a
new stadium” ..so it sounds like the Big Owe is out..

Its extremely rare for a country to specifically build a new stadium for the World Cup Final, In the last half century its only happened twice and Canada isn't a Qatar that can build all new. That leaves us with BC place holding the Final or Commonwealth Stadium.
Take your pick of the two, BC Place newly renovated is amazing but slightly small for World Cup Final standards as compared to World Cup Final stadiums for the past 60 years so adding seating would probably have to happen for the Final.
Commonwealth Stadium is expandable either by completing the horse shoe for upper tier seating and/or digging out more of the field in lower bowl to add a couple dozen more rows of seating. Edmonton may not seem like an international city by world standards but its the best city we got for it, It has the fifth busiest airport in Canada with the third busiest just down the road & in the next few years it will have the second tallest skyline in the country.. and it is the city that supports its sports well enough to have the facilities to have a stadium built and maintained well enough to get the job done without breaking the bank. I have a feeling the whole country could get behind this just like how well the Women's World Cup was received in Edmonton.
